New Casio Stage Pianos : PX-S6000 & S7000
Casio has been consistently doing better and better. I bought their older S3000 and liked it very much. They just released 3 models I think. My friend recorded a great demo for the PX-S6000 model. Check it out:

Looked at S6000 at Gear4music
- $2000 piano alone
- $2500 with the stand
and yet a very weak amp on 2 x 8W and only usb midi, no din midi.
Last digital piano with speaker I had was 2 x 30W and more appropriate and yet not overwhelming.
As demo, a glimpse at the electric pianos would be normal I think.
- to be seen as unpacking more than demo, maybe
Good player, but what what the piece he played?
- sounded a bit Lizst to me
- quite cool
A Korg Nautilus 88 is around $2700 and maybe more interesting for the money
Korg PA 1000 is same price as Casio, and has 2 x 33W amps

He has recorded bunch of good demos featuring EPs, and a lot of other sounds. I'll share them in this thread as he uploads on his channel.
Yes, he's an excellent pianist/composer. This is his own composition. In the style of Liszt, a shade of Scriabin but with a pop/cinematic twist.
I'm generally not a big fan of built-in speakers... be it Korg, Casio or whatever. I did listen to this particular model at my home studio which is about 400 square feet with high ceiling. It'd be too loud if you turned it up beyond 3/4 in this space. For an advanced pianist/keyboardist, they're not the best listening source at all. Obviously they're very useful for rehearsals, and situations where you just want to hear what you're playing without using external speakers, but at home I would definitely use quality speakers with it. I'm sure internal speakers could've been better.
The keybed is significantly different than the S1000/S3000. I play the S3000 on regular basis, so I'm very familiar with the action. It felt a bit lighter, but more responsive especially for fast passages, repeated notes and other advanced techniques.

Sam, thanks for the post. Your friend is a very accomplished player. I am also impressed with the Casio keyboard. It sounds wonderful on the recording. I am curious how well it projects from its own speakers.

I'll say it... seems really expensive "for a Casio." The PX-7000 is twice the price of their PX-3100 predecessor. The PX-7000 is more expensive than comparable, though older, digital pianos in this range from Kawai (ES-920), Yamaha (P-515), and others. Lots of options for prospective buyers.

Yes, he's a fantastic pianist and composer. I've been playing the S3000 for at least 2 years and even that sounds good. Not all presets, but I find it a very playable instrument. I haven't seen the S7000 just yet, but the S6000 is definitely an upgrade to the one I have. For one thing, it has a larger selection of better sounds.nitecrawler wrote:Sam, thanks for the post. You're not gonna have that top-notch listening experience with built-in speakers. Most people will probably connect to their own dedicated speakers, though they're loud enough and you can totally use them for rehearsals and stuff. I feel they color the sound especially in the mid-range.
Yes, lots of competition in this new price range.bpoodoo wrote:I'll say it... seems really expensive "for a Casio." The PX-7000 is twice the price of their PX-3100 predecessor. Well now I have another YouTube channel for my keyboard-porn addiction.Sam CA wrote: My friend recorded a great demo for the PX-S6000 model. Check it out:
The piano looks absolutely gorgeus and sounds fantastic -- although these days at these price points the "wow" depends more on the ability of the player than the instrument itself, and this guy is top notch.

Yeah, that's the thing. Great musicianship and performance skill changes everything.
