Hello Ricky,

A little bit of good news, I got the Expresion and Sustain pedal more or less working without any additional problems for now.
I've had to use the Pa5x "Filters" to filter out volume, Panpot FX-A-B etc for example.
Sending chords and then using Transpose remains a big problem.

Regards
Luc

Hi Luc, great.
Unfortunately transpose is a problem if playing on both keybeds at same time. Tried it Genos as controller, and PA5x as controller,
exactly same result. I only use my PA5x keys to play chords and melody for the sx900.
Sending chords from Genos to PA5x shouldn’t be a problem, reasonably sure that part should work ok.

“Chord in “ on Korg does work. Unfortunately don’t have access to keyboards at the moment, but , I think I set
On Korg, “Chord In “ ( just say to midi channel 8 )

On Sx900 out “ Lower” (To channel 8. ) I think Lower is they setting that sends chords.
best wishes

Thank you very much for thinking along!!

I also get it working, both Expr. as a Sustain pedal as well as the chord control from Genos to Pa5x via Midi A Genos to Midi In to Pa5x, but when I do a transpose on the Genos (+1) the accompaniment goes from Pa5x also +1 via (transpose Midi In) to then it's OK, but if I want to play a sound on the Pa5x on Lower, Upper 1,2, or 3, then Pa5x is still on Transpose 0, then do a Transpose +1 on the Pa5x to get to the same pitch and then the So add another semitone to Pa5x (+2) and the whole thing is unplayable!
To be clear, the genos is my main keyboard at the bottom and the Pa5x is the additional one at the top.
If I connect it the other way around, the Pa5x completely messes up the Genos.
Thank you
Luc
the pa5x has completely independent transpose controls for the style and keyboard sounds. It also remembers your transposed settings in a song, so if you ever transposed that song then it will say on your pa5x that it has a transpose setting of 0 so that you can use the transpose in a standard way with the knobs.

In your case, let's say that you want to use it in an ordinary way (so everythings transpose with that +1 setting, then you can do the following:
- hold shift and press the transpose button
- now you are in the master transpose section of the pa5x.
- set all values to 0
- check ALL the checkboxes on the page or disable the transpose midi IN notes if you already supply transposed notes, because in that case it transposes twice

as long as you don't use any previous transposed songs on your pa5x, it should work correctly.

There is an extensive section in the user manual with lots of examples. The possibilities goes way beyond simple transpose function, you have a lot of options transposing several items of your keyboard.

Hi Luc, I ended up with a really simple setup, should I ever decideto use the sx as the controller for playing chords on PA5x. Whether worth it or not, debatable 🤨

1.I set both keyboards to identical split points.
2. Synchro start “ ON” Korg.
Korg Settings . I altered the “Key Control” midi preset.
General Controls same.
Midi In Controls. Changed Chord 1 Channel : from off to 8.
Unticked Upper /Lower octave transpose.
Midi In Channel. Everything set to off.
Midi Out channel. Everything to off.
Filters . Everything Off.

SX900
1. Accomp & Sync start ON

2. “Muted” all the tracks in an SX900 style and saved as a registration. (Any style) Reason for dummy style, is sx doesn’t have a dedicated Chord Out setting. Had to use “Lower “ setting which unfortunately has a sound attached, can’t find a way of muting it. If the dummy style doesn’t play, it makes a sound.

System . Clock Internal
Transmit Clock. “ON”
Transpose Midi Input “OFF”
Start / Stop. Style
Local Control. All ticked.
Sys ex messages Off.

Transmit : Everything OFF . Except Lower. Port 1 Ch8.
Receive: Everything OFF.

All this basically allows me to do , is

Play keys on sx900 to play styles on Korg.
Transpose style in Korg, but only sx900 keys can be played for melody and chords.
Non transposed style, melody notes can be played on either keyboard.

Haven’t had a chance to check out what Qui suggested.

Going to see if I can simplify my PA5x to SX900 set up 😀
best wishes
