Missing/Blanked out Keyboard Sets?

Post by Synthhog »

Hi there all...As anyone noticed Missing/Blanked out keyboard Sets since the latest firmware?
Especially in the Rock section....
Tried a Factory reset and re-install of the latest firmware....
Just trying to find out if its on other peoples PA5X's and is a Firmware issue and not Hardware....I Have the 76 note model if that makes a difference...
Thanks for any input....

Indeed to 100%

I don’t know what the heck is happening with KORG engineers and People behind this project,
I also wonder how they will catch up with everything.
We miss so much, and it’s almost 16 month back they released it.
I still like many things on it, but it’s not the thing I was expecting from KORG!
With such a large number of missing features, bugs, and unhappy customers, I wonder how that can save the situation

Perhaps the time has come where the poles are about to flip and the Crown will be taken by Yamaha ?...

The only way that could happen, if i hazard a guess, would be if Yamaha surprise us all, by removing that historic brick wall that has been built around their Flagship Arrangers and they finally move into the Court of "P"rofessional "A"rrangers...

Something Korg seems to have relegated them self's from at this present moment in time...

Anyone for a (((( PA GENOS X )))) ??... Now there's a thought...

Is this a Soothsayer moment ??? or am I just dreaming again ????...

TBH, I think it's the lack of communication from Korg that is really the issue.

If they provided a (non-binding) timeline of where they are at, and where they hope to be - and providing users do not whinge and whine about "oh Korg promised this and that" which, btw, is why most makers do not post this stuff - then it would go a long way to calming folks down.

Although I do hasten to add, that this applies to all makers, none of which provide any of this info, unless it's deliberate social media leaks for marketing purposes.

I did not find any missing Kbd Sets. Any pointers on how to reproduce the issue will be appreciated.

For example Select Up Tempo Rock....Have the Keys View on the Screen....Upper 2 & 3 are missing.....
Strangely the other missing upper 1'2'3 have now appeared again on other Styles....So it seems i'm having random missing sounds on Styles on the Upper 1,2 & 3's.....
I'm now begining to think its more than a Software issue.....
Damn...The Dealer who i purchased it from has the exact same issue on there Instore model and they hadn't noticed it before i rang them....I ringing them next week as they are reaching out to Korg for Info/Answer....

Its intriguing how these NEW Issues are evolving
so long after the 2nd "0.S." release
Its almost like their Developing by themselves ?

up tempo rock is not a factory style as far as I know, so my guess is that it uses a User keyboard set that uses sounds in the USER tabs which were added by you or your dealer.

These aren't part of the factory OS and a factory reset won't help, when you install a new OS version (or update an existing OS version) then the User area can be emptied based on the OS version (this is mentioned in the update manual).

So when you update a keyboard then your user sounds will be removed and if you have followed the instructions than you have backuped your custom sounds before the update to a Backup KSC.

So the only thing you have to do is to load that backup again, for instance the USER tabs and user styles and keyboard sets and those will be added to your new OS again.

Thanks for the input...ive added nothing to the Keyboard neither has the Dealer...I picked it up Factory Sealed....The only thing ive done is Update to the latest Firmware....
Another Example...Straight Rock Keyboard set 4 Upper 1&2 Missing....
Its littered with them....
Its all very strange....
I'm certain there were more the other day....Seems a random issue....

strange, i couldn't find it in the manual,

but if it's a factory style, then just check the keyboard set and to which location upper 2 and 3 points to.

If it;s the user area (which is normally impossible for factory sounds) then just load the user sounds again

I will check it tonight when i'm in the studio again.
