Korg 01WFD distortion

Post by yoshi88 »

Just received this KORG 01WFD.

Original mother board would not boot up. I found a good replacement but has sound issues.
All buttons, navigation,menus etc work.

Only issue is distortion on outputs and headphones.

Will replacing ALL these original caps solve the problem? Or is there another source?

it's likely you'll have to replace the Op Amps as well.

I've done a couple, and it's a hell of a job.

How many OP AMPS are there on the main board. Where can they be bought.
I have a box inexpensive chinese capacitors from amazon in various values. Will these be good enough for the mainboard. Several of the old caps on that mainboard have weird ESR values, so I might as well replace them with new ones. Also, a previous owner mentioned that PCM55HP chips were trouble and replace those.

Your thoughts?
