KORG X3 pcg compatability
Does anyone know what synth pcg can be loaded on the Korg X3? I know you can load forward synths after the X3 but previous models? M1? O1W?
There is some compatibility with User Programs made on a Korg i2 or i3. Programs in the i2/i3 Bank D can be loaded into the X3 (and X2) Bank A, plus i2/i3 drum Programs 7 and 8.
There is a certain amount of intercompatibility between the X2, X3, and X3R, but how much so depends on which direction the Program data are being transferred.
As for M1 and 01/W data, the answer seems to be no. Many of the multisamples in the X3 share characteristics of the M1, so many of the M1's Programs could be recreated manually in the X3, with the help of an M1 original, or Legacy Collection M1 nearby, but there is no Lore multisample in the X3, so faithfully recreating the Universe Program in the M1 would not be possible.
