My guess is that it is compatible with the 4x and 3x's as well. I have it on pre-order from Sweetwater but, as of yet, has not arrived. I hope it is so I can interchange from my 5x to the 3xle when necessary. The keyboard to amp interface is identical on both keyboards. 8)

new PaAs compatible

Post by Alzy »

what my salesman @ Sweetwater told me that they are compatible with the 3 x & 4x but you lose 10 watts when used with these keyboards instead of the 5x ,, so its a 110 watt amp instead of a 120 watt .wasnt the original PaAs only 30 watts ...this new one would slove my grunting an amp around ...

The PaAS mk2 only provides its extra features with the Pa5x.

It works with the Pa3x and Pa4x but provides no additional features than the PaAS (original).

From the PaAS MK2 specs:

Power:
— 2 x 30 Watt (Middle/High Frequency) + 1 x 60 Watt (Subwoofer) (using any Pa5X model)
— 2 x 20 Watt (Middle/High Frequency) + 1 x 40 Watt (Subwoofer) (using previous models, like Pa4X, Pa3X, Pa3XLe)

The 2 x 20 Watt and 1 x 40 Watt are the same specs as the original PaAS.

Different volumes but works. Good news! Makes it more flexible for me. 8)

What about the original PaAS with the Pa5X? Any difference??

Well, just been advised by my supplier that delivery of my pre-ordered PaAs MK11 has been delayed til June tentatively. This seems to be a symptomatic of Korg. To indicate a delivery date and then postpone. My experience with Yamaha was entirely different. They announced the Montage M series and it was available when they said it would be. Two different but related product suppliers and two different results. :(

A 30-watt amplifier is less than 2 dB louder than a 20-watt amp...since 1 dB is the smallest difference in loudness that most people can hear, it doesn't seem like the Mk2's increase in power will make much difference to anyone...???
