Free app for the Korg Nautilus/Kronos

Post by stuartpryer »

Hi,

I just started writing an app for the Nautilus/Kronos. its called Nautilus tools. Years ago when I has my Oasys I did something similar for that. For instance the Nautilus lacks sliders for the drawbars on the CX3 model. This app allows controllers outputting CCs to map them to sysex for the Nautilus so you can control them from a nonokontrol for instance. Mapping sysex means controllers can control many many functions of the synths.

You can find ver 1.0.3 at:-

So far Ive added a mapper which means you can control different devices using midi CC, sysex etc. Docs explain it in detail. I'm not trying to replicate the Kronos editor or its screen but add new features. As the two workstations have similar architecture, it made sense to enable the software to work with both.

Cheers

Hi,

The software runs on codeweavers crossover on a Mac really well. So just install crossover. Then install the software inside it. Theres a 14 day free trial in their website.

Im not planning to do a native Mac version as the software is free/ donation ware and it would take some work to port it.

Cheers

Hi,

Ive been busy updating Nautilus Tools to 1.0.4 Ive been adding the conversion routines for converting korg 7 bit internal data to 8 bit and back. Also converting 8 bit binary (pcg) to hex etc. I mainly lifted it from the work I did on the Oasys Companion I wrote back in 2006 -2009. This core code is needed for say adding librarian functionality and data editing etc.

Cheers

Hi,

Version 1.05 of Nautilus tools (incl. Kronos) is now available on my website. I've updated the documentation too and explain how to turn the Nautilus into Kronos 3 !

Cheers
