Korg IS50B - flash rom problem

Post by gyul »

Hi,

Does anybody meet the following problem?
Korg IS50B style banks (A and B) is empty, only user bank holds 64 styles.
A, B, C, D, E banks of voices are OK, F, too but the drum kits are also missing. Only the last two drum kits (27 and 28 place) are available, from 11 to 26 not. When I make an internal test, the following message can be seen: flashrom checksum error.
What can be the solution? Update of operating system if it updates the data of style flash rom? I do not know it. Or change of this flash rom? If yes, it is available and what about the data upload?

Hi

i had the same problem and today i solved it

download "preload data" from here: http://www.korgpa.com/support/discontin ... -is50.html

unpack and copy to floppy disk (formatted: FAT) and move that disc to KORG

Hold buttons "Arr. Play" and "Global" while powering on.

with button "program 8" or "page" (near screen) move to last one wich says something about preload. floppy disk starts working and it takes arround 5 minutes to copy

that's it !

I'm aware this is an old post but I'm wondering if anyone can help as I'm stuck, I have loaded the relevant files and it seems to have overwritten the previous because the styles are now different as are the user drums that are currently working but it is still missing rest of the drums and styles etc.. My only guess is it's a hardware issue now
