Crossfade tones in combi with knob or pedal?

Post by Jur451c »

Does anyone know how to crossfade between two patches in a combi with a pedal or knob, so when the knob or pedal is at minimum you just hear sound one, and if the pedal or knob is at maximum you just hear sound 2?

To clarify, I ideally need to do it with an expression pedal, but I guess if you can do it with one of the knobs then the expression pedal can control the knob (I think).

I've managed to do this relatively easily on Yamaha and Roland workstations, and in Mainstage, but I'm yet to suss it out on the Nautilus!!

Thanks in advance!

One way to enable selective Timbre fading in a Combi, is to go to the Global Controllers tab, and set Foot Pedal Assign to CC#18 and, in the MIDI CC# Assign section on the same page, set X-Y control Y to CC#18.

Then, switch to Combi mode and go to the Combi EQ/X-Y Controllers section, X-Y Volume tab, and set the X-Y Assign for each timbre to be controlled to -Y or +Y. One setting will raise the Timbre volume as the Expression pedal is pressed toe down, and the other will do the opposite.
