Looking forward to the arrival. I have one on pre-order already. It will allow for easy out of studio use without too much effort or trouble.

I found this note on the SweetWater Music site. Could this be a concern when using the MK2 on previous models?
Note: Power output with previous Pa series models, like the Pa4X, Pa3X, or Pa3XLe, is 10 watts lower than when used with the Pa5X. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer with any questions or concerns regarding compatibility with your Pa series keyboard.

Most power amps (digital) today draw very little current in comparison to old amps. If Korg designed the MK2 for the Pa series, the power supply is going to be able to handle it. This is just common sense. Don't stress over a non issue.

I looked up the specs of the old PaAS and the power output of the power amps totaled 80 watts. The PaAS Mk2 has a power output rating of 120 watts. Now don't confuse that with the power supply.KeysFla wrote:I found this note on the SweetWater Music site. Could this be a concern when using the MK2 on previous models?

Now I checked the manuals and the power supply of the Pa4x with the PaAS (original) is designed to handle 35 watts, and the power supply of the Pa5x with the PaAs (original) was designed to handle 45 watts. I don't know what that means for the new PaAS Mk2. Now the Pa5x draws more power (20 watts according to the manual) than the Pa4x (15 watts according to the manual). I think this probably means, if you run the PaAS Mk2 at maximum all the time for hours on end, you might have a problem and blow a fuse with the older Pa series.

I found information that the PaAS has a smart connect system so with older Pa Series keyboards it will only provide 80 watts of power. But for the Pa5x it will produce 120 watts of power (speaker/amplifier power not power supply power). So nobody needs to worry about their keyboards blowing a fuse.

Have moved my Pa5X with the PAas 2 sound bar to my great room. When I have guests over to the house, my music room is too small to comfortably seat listeners. With the PAas soundbar installed, I find the sound volume to be ample enough for listeners in that location. This setup and location has exceeded my expectations. I will be giving more performances with this new setup!nitecrawler wrote:Looking forward to the arrival. I have one on pre-order already. If I ever go back to smaller senior shows, I will definitely try just the PAAS. As a backup, I can add my Bose S1 pro…nitecrawler wrote:Have moved my Pa5X with the PAas 2 sound bar to my great room. New KORG PAAS 2
I have this unit fitted to my new Pa5X and it it simply breathtaking in sound quality.
The immediate, and fuss free connectivity, meaning no extra speakers or cables being required, was a major factor in choosing this unit.
I highly recommend it to all Pa5X owners.
