repair problems

Post by Alzy »

over the years I have not found a local repair place that is any good .im here is Roswell , Ga, i finally wrote a not so nice letter to Korg ..they sent me back a great replay ..they charge $70. 00 an hour ,but you pay for shipping to the factory .. i first had to wait and receive a number from them which had to be on the outside of the shipping boxer they would not except it ( i had the original box ) i shipped my pa3x off whit a list of problems . after a week they emailed me a rough estimate ,asked if they show go forward . i said yes ,and 2 more weeks later .for $170 i got my keyboard back it felt brand new

That sounds like a great outcome!
My Pa3x is good excepct for one problem. I'm getting twice as much output through the left channel compared to the right. This is for both headphone and line output.
My workaround is to put the output through a mixer and pan it to the right.

I had to replace the rubber contact strips on the key bed. Found them on Ebay. Most of the carbon became pitted. I was tired of intermittent keys going out. Cleaning the circuit board and Replacing them all, solved the problem. Now like new. But always take pictures as you can install them wrong way because of the two offset contacts for each note. I think for after touch?
