Reauthorizing EX Sounds after format and system reinstall
Hope you can help me. I reformatted and reinstalled all system files on my 61 key Titanium because I started to have shut downs. All fine, except my EX-17 and EX-18 files are back to demos. I downloaded the reauthorization file from my Korg ID account and put it in my USB in root directory.
If I power up with USB in place, nothing happens other than normal start up but EX's are still demos. When I got to authorize them in the Global options info tab, it asks for the authorization code. I don't have that code, but assume it's in the downloaded reauth file I have? What am I doing wrong?
Thank you. Mark

Hello jetrocker,
Go to the following Korg site link :
https://id.korg.com/users/sign_in
After entering and authorizing your Kronos with the Public ID, you should be able to get the other authorization codes for the EXs17 and EXs18 libraries in the "Your Products / Downloads" section. They should be under the Kronos section when you click the down arrow. If you don't see the codes there, contact Korg by email and they should be able to fix that for you.

Thanks for info. They unfortunately do not show under "Authorization" on that page. I thought the download thing would work somehow, but appears that it does not on boot up of the keyboard. I sent email to Korg support via their support website page. Hope it doesn't take 3 days for a response!

Go back to your account on that site and see if your ID numbers match with your ID in Global on the Kronos. I'm just guessing, but reformatting your system could have changed it. You may have to Delete the registration and reregister with the new ID. Sounds are good for 3 product registrations.
I reformatted my OASYS drive once. Dan at Korg said to not do that.

Seems like a couple of different things going on here. The authorization codes should be there, after you select AUTHORIZE, then select your Kronos ID.jetrocker wrote:They unfortunately do not show under "Authorization" on that page. Mike, my ID numbers in my account and the Global on my Kronos still match. I wish I would have known not to reformat! Why give the user the option then? Oh well, done is done. It does not give me any codes after I select an item.Mike Conway wrote:Go back to your account on that site and see if your ID numbers match with your ID in Global on the Kronos. Another issue too is that the "Factory" folder I now have is signicantly different from the "Factory" folder I used to have before reformat. Italian Grand and other things in original folder. What a mess....
KK wrote:Just in case, another thing is make sure you updated the OS to 3.1.4 as it removes the limitation on the number of EXs installs/uninstalls. Weird that your Italian piano ends up in the factory folder and not in the Korg options one. Maybe it is because you have a special model (Titanium).
Yes, I did that already. Thx.
