Bought because of CHORD SEQUENCER (1.3FW) now returning it

Post by nonchai »

Last week I bought the PA5x 88.
Did so because for first time in current flagship arrangers we have an editable chord progression record-&-loop facility. I already own the PSR SX 900 - which - apart from not having editable CHORD LOOPER is just great - although I really want an 88 weighted key version - another reason I was keen to try out the PA5x88

I SO SO wanted to love this board - and so many aspects were good and fun - but today i'm returning it as many user interface aspects are rushed, half done, buggy and often involve far too many clicks and presses to get anywhere. The CHORD sequencer design is half-arsed and half-done. In fact same goes for the whole UI experience overall - both the touch display aspects and physical button design decision aspects.

Such a shame. Plus... the bugs. It’s as if the folks that made this board just lost interest or motivation.

Such a shame you're so right.
The Physical button design decision aspects, who would design and put the power button right next to the volume slider, if you should slip when you're turning the volume up or down or if you're rest your hand by it to constantly change the volume up and down could easily turn the machine off.
Whereas on the PA 4X the power button was way far away on the right hand side no chance of making a mistake and turning it off.

Korg just copy the Geons layout.
