Suggestion: list of alternativ power supply units PSU

Post by BlackForest »

Since our boards are coming to an age where PSU start to fail more and more, how about we start a list of working replacement PSU (apart from the original ones)? As I was not successful with my attempt, so I can't list anything here.

Please also add the Kronos model that you have.
Kronos 2-88 & X73, Kurzweil MicroPiano, Spitfire Albion V Tundra, BBCO Core, Nylon Guitar Ilya Efimov, Xtant Audio Uilleann Pipes - in use

Testing Modartt Pianoteq..

Korg DS-8, Roland D-10, M1Rex, Wavestation, Korg SP-280, JV2080, Wavestate, Kronos LS - all RIP

don't think you'll find a drop-in replacement from non-OEM and some DIY-ing may be needed, with that, the "SEASONIC SSP-300SUB" is a good choice. Ask me how I know http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpbb2/ ... p?t=121491.

Yeah, we've been in touch about this. I have difficulty to get the Seasonic though..

It will probably depend on the nature of the fault.

There will undoubtedly be a small market for an enterprising electronics person, who understands switched mode power supplies and their repair, and has managed to secure a reasonable stock of spare components.
