Post by karmathanever »

Hi Guys

Quick question please...
Will the original Nautilus recognise AT MIDI from an external controller/keyboard?

Thnx

Yes, and it will recognize polyphonic AT if you have something that sends those messages.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply
My money is very tight but I have the opportunity to buy used Nautilus-1 73 in great condition.
Not sure that I am overly bothered by AT but it's good to know that it will "receive" AT.

Still weighing up whether to go for Kronos-1 also on offer (owned KK1 for several years).

I know I have to make my own decisions here - doing lots of research

Thanks again

I've owned the Nautilus 61 (original) for about 2 years now and I love it. It's a very powerful & capable machine in a very elegant package. It feels really smooth to play it! I would go for it instead of the Kronos, but that's just my opinion. Get the one that gives you the most for what you need!

You may have to load the programs for the Nautilus AT for it to utilize aftertouch in the programs and combis. I don't know if the ones on the OG Nautilus has any parameters assigned to aftertouch.

Nautilus AT have the same preload programs. Some of them already have the AT assigned other not. Voicing team did not add the AT in the preload programs. All parameters is the same as Kronos so even is non AT the Nautilus have AT as AMS available.

Hi Pete, I would buy a Nautilus without thinking twice. It's new, no risk. Also you will be surprised how many new sounds and samplers are already installed. Pianos, guitars, basses, strings, drums, sfx, loops, WS and a lot of free banks. I don't know anyone who switched from old Kronos to Nautilus and wants to go back. Just an opinion :)
