Expression pedal with PA5X

Post by ptine610 »

After watching one of the terrific Korg webinars by Keyboard Academy, I purchased an inexpensive expression pedal to add to my PA5X. I'm finding that regardless of the curve choices in the menu, as I increase pressure on the pedal, it jumps from silence to a sound level which isn't smooth at all. It's more of an "on/off" rather than a gradual increase. Once I pass that level, then it follows a smooth volume according to the curve. Are there any adjustments that can be made or should I invest in a better pedal? The one that I bought (Nektar) was only $20. Thank you!

Try calibrating.

Hi,
It looks like you have a small circular dial halfway along the side of your expression pedal. Try turning it, as it should allow you to make adjustment to the smoothness of the pedal.

The Nektar NX-P expression pedal also has a polarity switch underneath. This switches between RTS and TRS polarity.

Thank you for opening my eyes, as I didn't realize that there was a knob - particularly on a $20 pedal. I do see that it makes a difference but need to play with it a bit more to get it right. Appreciate everyone's helpful responses...
