Realtime control KNOB Mistery?!?

Hi,
I have a problem that i couldn't solve.
I created a program and set control change on every knob.
Then I copied this program in a combi using the function copy from program with effects.
Since i need to set this program on a different channel from Global I set it on channel one.
what's happened is that when i try to modulate the sound using knob, knob modulation doesn't work.
I set on my knob control change "F/A Release" to modulate timing of amp release.
If i go back to combi midi setting and choose for my timbre channel 2 (global channel) then modulation works.
Is it impossible to use knob modulation in combi mode if the instrument channel is different from global?!?
