Changing sequencer track type

Post by aniket_tigga »

In sequencer mode, track 15 & 16 is alloted for SMP (Sampling) and STEP (step sequencer). Is it possible to change these two track types to a normal track or drum track and record notes in it?

Does this question relate to the Kross 2? The original Kross doesn't have the Sampler function, so I'm guessing we're discussing the Kross 2 here.

Sequencer tracks 15 and 16 can be used as ordinary MIDI tracks, provided that there is no need for the Sampler or Step Sequencer in the Song. Here are the relevant bits from the Kross 2 Operation Guide.

Page 62
Select a song, and in the MAIN page, turn “SMP” on; the
timbre that's assigned to track 15 is disabled (does not
sound), and instead the on/off events of the pad sampler are
recorded as note-on/off events of the MIDI channel that's
assigned to track 15.
If “SMP” is off, the track 15 timbre can be used as usual.

Page 91
In Sequencer mode, track 16 is used by the step sequencer. It
will be used if the SEQ> PROG page STEP parameter is
selected. If the STEP parameter is not selected, timbre 16
can be used as a conventional track.

Hope that helps.
