Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
Hi Kbrkr,
I'm sure you are right on everything you said in the previous Post.
My question is this, why are Korg managing to push out regular O/S updates for the Korg Nautilus but not for the PA5X. There was an update (albeit minor, 1.3.3) in late February this year and again an update today (1.3.4). Although it is minor, it is nearly 1 Gig in size.
Are they the same software Engineers dealing with both the Nautilus and the PA5X ?

I think there is a team and synths are a priority over arrangers. If they are Agile they should have a roadmap and an ETA for v1.4chelsea4023 wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 1:05 pm Hi Kbrkr,

The best thing Korg can do, especially with unhappy customers, is communicate and that is also what they are not doing. There is a lousy management at Korg that needs a kick in the ass. I was very enthusiastic about 1.4 but that has long since faded as well as the confidence in Korg. Very unfortunate.
Even their business card, the website, has errors and that says something about how they check and test their work.

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
One thing I can not understand is Korg's lack of communication with the customer base. If they are actively working on it and it's taking longer than expected, yes poor planning and estimating but at least we would know they're trying and I can stomach that for a while longer. Maybe they should have prioritized bug fixes first and then focus on major feature updates for a potential v2.0. Silence is the worst thing...for all we know they may have abandoned the update. It all depends on whether they want to remain in the arranger market or not. I'm still optimistic and believe they will blow us away with all of the major new features and hopefully bug fixes, but it has been too long without any news in my opinion.

I don't have exact figures, but I'm pretty sure Korg is selling 10-20 Nautilus to every 1 Pa5x. Most gigging and home studio musicians use the Nautilus and Kronos. That is Korg's bread and butter and that is where most of their resources have been deployed; and rightly so. The Pa5x is a niche product which is suffering from declining sales and thus unfortunately has been de-prioritized by the Korg product management and tech staff. Such a shame for a potentially fantastic great product!

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
The selling price of the Pa5X likely puts it out of the reach of potential buyers.
The Nautilus AT (88 key) costs around $3,000.00 (USD).
The upcoming Kronos 3 (88 key) is priced at $4,000.00 (USD).
The Pa5X (88 key) sells for $5,300.00 (USD).
The Pa5X is more of a content creating tool while the Nautilus & Kronos are more performing machines. Of course, a 5x can be taken to performances and a Nautilus & Kronos can be used in a studio setting.
I suspect that the sales figure situation is similar for the Yamaha Genos 2 vs the Montage M8x.

I ask on YouTube - Korg Germany about the status of version 1.4. Got this answer
Hi there, we still don't have any information on the exact release date of the upcoming Pa5X update, but of course we're going to announce it on all of our channels as soon as it's available. Thanks for your patience!
No information I can conclude.

One of the highly uninformative and inconclusive info I have heard of late.DaPale wrote: ↑Fri May 16, 2025 8:02 am I ask on YouTube - Korg Germany about the status of version 1.4. Got this answer

@KORGTVGERMANY The customers don't have patience anymore with features missing since the Pa5X release and no communication. And also the LED problem is still not solved by Korg. Bad company and bad management.

@idemditto We're sorry, but that's just not true. There have been no missing features in the Pa5X at all, that have been advertised before they were actually implemented. There might still be some features missing that users of older PaX generations are looking for, and KORG has been working on adding them bit by bit. That’s why there’s already an OS v1.3.1, and there will be further – by the way: completely free - updates coming in the future. Also, the fact that there is no communication is not true, since there’s a dedicated FAQ page on the Pa5X product page on korg.com delivering answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding wanted features. As you know, the upcoming update is going tob e a pretty big one with a whole lot of new functions and improvements (as it was shown at NAMM show), but things like this need a little extra time to make sure no other areas of the instrument are being affected by this. Any customers that experienced quality issues with some of the hardware parts have been helped quickly and completely for free of charge as well. KORG is doing everything possible to satisfy their customers, so we’d highly appreciate it if you refrained from telling them names like that.

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
Try switching from one beat to another. You will hear a cliffhanger full midi and audio stop from style A before style B kicks in making style transitions not seamless at all. The cliffhanger applies to all effects as well such as reverb and delay. I demonstrated this to Federico Pallotti of Korg Italy who is one of the OS developers and he didn't see what the problem is and kept trying to refer me to the manual which I know cover to cover. I demonstrated other bugs all of which were clearly shown on factory styles and factory sounds in all 5x OS versions on multiple keyboards with no user resources loaded. He completely disregarded those bugs and once again tried to refer me to manual. I do not believe their team has the ability to fix the issues as long as they continue to live in denial. Seamless transitions is an advertised feature of the 5x that it very clearly does not have. The cue mode has nothing to do with it. All possible combinations have been tested. It makes no difference whatsoever what variation you use. It applies to every single style. It makes no difference what beat you are up to or where you start from either. Maybe Korg should get help from Ketron.

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
5 months over from NAAM show, and still the update 1.4.0 has not shown up
I am getting used to this hide and seek game.
Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
As it's written in the post above:
"As you know, the upcoming update is going tob e a pretty big one with a whole lot of new functions and improvements (as it was shown at NAMM show), but things like this need a little extra time to make sure no other areas of the instrument are being affected by this."
Yes, it has taken a loooong time, but I think this is a good and wise decision.
I would rather take the time to wait than get a lot of problems with a OS not tested properly.
Cheers
