How: Navigating menus WITHOUT touchscreen?

Post by yoshi88 »

If after replacing the touchscreen and assuring a good connection on the KLM 2666 "joint" board that transfers LCD data to screen + Touchscreen coordinates to the motherboard, are the other ways to navigate thru all menus with out a functional touchscreen, IF there is a continued fault?

IF all else fails can one use:
1 MIDI messages
2 Panel key / button combinations
3 Other ways to control the M3

Using the Korg M3 Editor software will allow control of much of what is available for editing on the M3 screens.

There is also Soundquest Software's MIDI Quest, which will additionally control many different keyboards, including the M3. The M3 Editor offers a cut down version of MIDI Quest.

Thank you for that.
As a as a last resort, if the servicing of a new Touchscreen and board brings no joy, I will DL the M editor to gain functional editing.

IS the M3 editor virtually the same as having a functional touch screen giving access to ALL M3 menus and functions?

The M3 Editor software gives access to pretty much all of the M3's menus and fucntions, though the layouts on the computer screen will differ from those displayed on the M3's own screen. The M3 Editor software download includes an Editor Owner's Manual, which will give a better idea of what's possible. One thing that may be of interest, is that the Editor allows the user to edit the Vocoder formant motion data, something that is not possible using the M3 itself.

The M3 Touch screen issue has been resolved!

I have DL the editor software and will explore it. Thank you for pointing me in that direction. :)

The unresponsive touch screen was caused by a fault on the KLM 2666 circuit board that conveys Data to the LCD and transfers Touchscreen
co-ordinates to the main processor. Repairing the fault / replacing the board solved the issue as I was beginning to consider replacing the NEW touchscreen
