Hi everyone,
OK Firstly if someone can confirm my theory that when you record a midi and then play it back on the machine that you recorded it on, it is not possible to change all of the balances unless you edit the midi file and then save it. That is what I have always found on every keyboard that I have ever owned, even on Pa4X.
I need to record songs in midi for several reasons.
So I get a style. Modify the variations save it as a user style.
Go into recording studio and record it to an arrangement and export the arrangement as a Midi Song.
Exit the Arrangement Load the newly recorded song and play it. All of the balances have been changed and in some cases the FX.
So far I cannot consistently created a midi file that I can send to my friend because they are garbage.
So is this the case for all Pa5X or just mine?
I hope that someone can help me with this because it is driving me nuts.
Many thanks,
Barry.
IS Pa5X midi a disaster or is it just my machine.

Recording Studio , do not export Generic SMF format , it's an internal format that is used for Pa5X players only
as Song midi file , and can't be imported even via "import" function in Pa5X , so you can send it as Arrangement or song
midi for only to Pa5X owners.
Only Pa5X import/export function can export a SMF0 , other formats are only for Pa5X players

to viodacoda ?
my experience with midi is that it just doesnt do the job in 2025 (or 2024 23 22 etc) anything recorded on instrument A will not play the same ( sometime at all) without a lot of work on instrument B minute difference in sound or wave form can change the way the notes are played and if GM is used nothing works well thats 20+ years old too. One way that used to work was recording on an x5d keyboard and using an x5dr rack unit to play I still have two of those but still not the same . time for a huge update
