I notice that nothing is being done to improve the portamento on the PA5x. I still have the impression that it is also related to release time.

Could you please make a video of how the portamento should work for authentic Balkan / Greek sounds. What parameters are you looking for tweaking which will enable the PA5X to emulate the Balkan / Greek sounds with authentic feel.

Please make a comparison video so that the Korg engineers can understand the problem and provide the necessary implementation in the future OS updates.

Thanks for the videos. After seeing the videos and reading the inputs from senior members like AntonySharmman; i decided to do my own research. I examined a few factory sounds with DNC, portamento and other effects, and my observation is that those sounds are not just simple tweaks of some filters, but they are carefully engineered and layered sounds. In principle I agree with AntonySharmman explanation of sound design, and i believe that Korg has dedicated sound engineers who design the sounds to replicate the nuances of the instruments accurately.

I just know that it doesn't work as it should, plain and simple. The oscillator sounds can't be shortened to zero, even if you reduce the decay and release to zero, and I think that's where the problem comes from, a glitchy and unnatural portamento at shorter durations. But I have the impression that they won't be able to do that either, and that's while the Genos even has x-fade portamento. I don't want to get into arguments with anyone, but I'm simply dissatisfied.

The oscillator sounds can't be shortened to zero, even if you reduce the decay and release to zero. I've tried many times. It's a problem with the PA series sound engine and it seems that either it's not wanted or the programmers are not able to solve this. Se observă foarte bine aici: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpI2NF-FWBc
Too bad! It would have been normal for this to be corrected after more than 20 years with the Pa5 series.

Are these complaints reaching the ears of someone at Korg, is anyone taking them seriously, or are we just wasting our time making them?
I tend to think they are rather ignored!
