It would be less of a problem if we had 32 timbres of course

I agree

Maybe that's asking too much, huh? It would, however, be ... I can't really put that into words. Out of this world?

RX Sound into Oasys...This would be fantastic!
new Sample Import options!
more Exi -libraries like FM,Prophecy,Z1,PS3000-3200

Well, we could go on and on about this

Physical, Granular modelling, FM, Trinity library, Z1, M1, X3, etc

Loads of wishes

wishlist -
x-mas 2oo6 addendum
- portamento for the polysix
- improved sample management (format import, auto loop, etc)
- resynthesis
- ethno sample library (mid and far east, africa, celt, etc.)
- oberheim or sci exi (ob-xa, ob-8, matrix or p5)
- prophecy exi
- better vocoder (comparable to rolands v-synth xt)
- a sequencer doing justice to the OASYS
last but not least ...
more accuracy before releasing new OS (test routine for Betatesters ?!)

Just a note - the AL-1 can do quite good oberheim and p5 sounds, with the exception of audio-rate polymod for the p5 filter. Look in the manual/help for the AL-1's OSC Basic page, under the heading "Modeling vintage analog synths," and the various sections to which it refers. I wasn't allowed to use actual synth names in the manual, but they are hinted at: "classic synthesizer expander module," "American, wood-paneled monophonic synthesizer," "famous five-voice American synthesizer."

LOL ... they're cute those references ... I like the reference to "a well known German Synth" in the Op Guide when discussing the idea of scanning through the steps in a wav seq.

Dan,
you know that I programmed already some typical Oberheim and P5 sounds with the AL-1

. But I did not know this part of the manual (guess it is in the parameter guide) which I will check for sure, thanks for the hint.

The blue german synth has some nice waves

. To get the original ones into the OASYS is also a good idea... have to check who owns a 2.2 or 2.3 which is still working.

- better vocoder (comparable to rolands v-synth xt)
- convolution reverb (like Altiverb)
- a sequencer doing justice to the OASYS
- a kind of database in which envelope, efx, filter, etc. settings can be stored and recalled independent from exi or exs.
- random function for sound programming
- more sound banks (access via "soft 2nd function")
last but not least ...
more accuracy before releasing new OS (test routine for Betatesters ?!)

Hi,
how about:
1. 24bit/96KHz sampling rate as standard!
2. 32 tracks of HD audio - record up to 32 at a time! Ok 16 tracks of HD audio with the ability to record all 16 simultaniously! (I'm just trying to see how I can make this device my main work tool instead of Nuendo!)
3. kick ass sequencing facility!
Blessings and Love

It would be handy to have some true insert effect slots (before the level stage) exclusively for each timbre/track in combi or sequencer mode. When using effects like guitar amp simulators or compressor/limiters, the level faders are useless; you have to set the volume level of the sound within the effect settings, having you switching around between the effects to set the different levels.

That's a very good point, Tokke. It probably just needs a switch (pre-fader or post-fader), since it can sometimes be handy to have control of the level beforehand. Like when putting more than one sound through an insert effect -But you're absolutely right that modelled overdrive/amp simulators change their sound according to the input level. Therefore, the faders must be used to set the nature of the sound, and can't be used for mixing.

The problem with this is that "IFX" are themselves busses; multiple tracks can go to a single IFX. I agree that per-track inserts would be good.
