Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. That damn word was all I spoke during the week I created that song due to an architecture project I was involved in late last year (architecture is my day job). I like your work too, you do loads with a simple and well thought out setup; and I LOOOVE the Casio VL-1 by the way, lo-fi heaven right there... now run that through a ring modulator so you can really piss some people off 8)...

Yes, it seems the two go very well together, work and fenestration that is. Thanks man, I love my hardware. I run the VL-1 into the monotron from time to time to get the roommate pissed

Hey, just an opinion. My bandmate is trying to decide between an R3 and a Micro. Which do you like best, is either a better "all around" synth? I've been reading the limitations of both and I'm leaning toward the R3, but he seems to be for the Microkorg.

Definitely the R3; not only are the full keys an advantage, but it's also got a mod sequencer, 3 insert effects per timbre (plus a master effect insert). I also found the editing a bit more straightforward; the formant recording is also nice to have 8).

We just got back from Guitar Center and played with almost all the synths in his price range. We both agreed that the R3 would be best too! He should have it by weeks end if all goes as planned :D

Here are some rough sketches of mine:

http://soundcloud.com/shortsleeves

Some are rougher than others :-) Some (the last two) are short ideas uploaded as a reminder to myself to develop them.

All done on EM1 as sketches for backing tracks to be layered with samples and whatnot.

Cheers,

Nice! What tribe/s are you using? You should put these on soundcloud if they are just audio, get pretty boring staring at a white screen with your name.

Me and my Electribe MX (videos)

Post by radiofreebc »

I recently got an Electribe MX (EMX-1SD) and here are some videos of a few beats I've made with it.
No edits or overdubs...just hammering it out live. ;)

There are a few tracks in the playlist, and they should play automatically.

I love this crazy thing, and hope you like the tracks.
I'd love to get some feedback, so feel free to let me know if you like em (or hate em too).

Korg, if you're reading...feel free to send me gear anytime! I'd gladly demo it on YouTube for you! :) :) :)

ha, cheers aciphecs, just made a soundcloud account!

http://soundcloud.com/gloomyelectronica

most of it's done on an emx-1 with a few sounds coming from a cello (it's the little things) and a couple of guitars (and now, we dance)

:>

Awesome I'll check out the page when I get home, you'll definitely have a new follower here :D

Nice, we've sampled a cello before. It is the little things that add up, solid work man!
