Please change the title of this topic, like "KORG Pa700 VS Yamaha Genos"!
I assure you that the Korg Pa700 will win without any problems.
We can compare the KORG Pa4x only with Yamaha Genos 10
I hope Yamaha will not give birth to deadly keyboards models...

What would you say if the Pa4x was also cheaper by the same standards? What would you say that MOST users prefer larger retailers who offer financing for such purchases....but they don't offer Frank's price. What would you say if I told you not everybody lives in the US and there are other countries/continents on this planet as well!

It doesn't matter....I still want to know why they justified the price tag!

I am just trying to help people who say that Genos is too expensive, and showing a way to get it at a reasonable price.
It does not matter to me which is better than which, as I love my PA4X, too.
I didn't mean to offend anyone, but judging from the comments, I might have, for which I apologize.

Totally! I'm sure all local people will appreciate your suggestions. Again...my focus was on the price tag and unfortunately most people will end up paying the premium for the reasons above. I was only talking about the price claimed by Yamaha through their major authorized dealers internationally.

I absolutely agree that the price tag from Yamaha is ridiculous!

In the wake of all this Genos price talk, there's some fascinating reading here:

So true! Genos definitely falls in this category. There's absolutely no reason for it to be advertised at this price.

I've found this vid with comparatives.

I think it's not exhaustive, but maybe some of you find it useful.

Hi, Eduardo!

Where have you heared that? Yammies are kinda hard to find in our country. As a matter of fact, not even PSR-S970 is available here. From time to time I see some Tyros 5 offers in ML (from Promusica, maybe). And prices are ridiculous, more than double that in origin. I have an S950 (bought it in 2013) and I think I'll stop there. I have a Pa600 too.

Hi Daniel:

A friend of mine have's a contact with a direct import resealer, who give him the notice.- The price he give him is estimated, not exactly, but surelly will be near that one.-
About yamaha products long time ago i've a PSR, but it sucks.- I have it for only 3 month and then i begin my love with Korg.-
About Korg my first one was Triton, later Triton expanded, later M3, later PA600, later PA3x le, and now Kronos 2 and PA4x and waiting for the next Korg magical keyboards.-
Allways Korg give the best for the less.-
If someone wants to lose money must go to Yamaha, Kurzweil, or Roland.-
Korg show since long time that they produce reliable keyboards and very good sound modules.-
With regards.

Over here in Holland..
When you exchange a near brand new pa4x (76)
You still pay €2700

So what kind of miracle instrument is this?

The price of Tyros5 on the Yamaha website is listed at $6799, so, it is the same as Genos. No one pays 6799 for a T5 and no one will pay such for Genos either, so, the Genos will cost more or less as much one pays for a new T5. So, if one believes the cost of T5 was reasonable, then so is Genos, as especially in the US, MAP is 5499 but one can get it for 1100 less, I believe.

I’ve owned four Yammie arrangers to include a Tyros 4. I now own and gig with a PA4X.

I’m guessing the Genos will be a good keyboard, but bang for the buck, the PA4X will be the one to beat.

Some things are not said in the video

Pa4x has 3 time the sample rom of the Genos
Pa4x has a huge amount of real time controlls on its front panel
Pa4x has a full fully editable synth engine

Yamaha has a huge tyros fanbase
That will just buy every upgrade no matter what the costs

In the end there is one thing that will decide om the best arranger question
And that is soundquallity
It looks like yamaha gave its styles and sound a huge update
Mostly trough the very strong dsp
But also trough new arrnagements and new drums for the new styles

Actually i simply cannot agree with this highlighted quote..

For synths, perhaps, but arrangers?.. absolutely not...its the arranger part of the instrument rather than the sound module that is equal or even more important.. after all, it is real easy to bolt on other sound modules, but impossible to change the sequencing heart and control surface of an arranger :)
