I hope you're loving every minute with your Kronos! In Australia, they are few and far between... mine is on order and expected in September.
Slightly off-topic, how do you find the K&M Spider Pro double stand that you have there?
I am considering a single-pole stand like that, and have looked at the K&M and also an "Axis 90".
My main concern is whether an 88 key synth is stable on this sort of stand, if it gets bumped on either end, say by a wild guitarrist at a gig!
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts!
Cheers,
Mike

And If I had read the next part of the thread first, I would have realised that!!
Point taken!!

Here's my very happy new Korg Kronos Studio Setup
Not only is the new Kronos the center piece of my modest home studio, it's the only keyboard I own now. I play and record all my music live, in real time, and use my mac to make music sheet notation of my new compositions. Short term goal: really get to know my K. Long term goal: learn the world of DAW. I sold my Fantom X8 to switch to the Kronos. I loved that keyboard and miss the 4 amazing SRX expansion boards I had on it because I had a lot of favorite patches. I have also played entry level Yamahas such as the MM6 and YPG in the past. Even they have some very sweet spots. This is my first Korg product. I am very impressed by this unusually capable keyboard. I'm lovin' the new (for me) Korg sounds and really appreciate the German Piano program. I just set up my equipment today so I haven't yet tucked all the cables completely away. I'm expecting to make a few adjustments so I'll clean them up later. Now, it's back to more practice and composing.

I like your setup! Is the stand holding the keyboard and providing the shelf for the computer, computer keyboard etc. custom built? I would be interested in at setup like this.Hal2001 wrote:Not only is the new Kronos the center piece of my modest home studio, it's the only keyboard I own now.
That looks great. Nice and clean...but very inspirational!

Re: Here's my very happy new Korg Kronos Studio Setup
I use an X stand for the K and a Stage Table Top Keyboard stand to hold up a 5' X 17" back shelf just behind the Kronos. I have my output cables just below the shelf and I leave 1 1/4" between the keyboard and the shelf to stick my finger in and turn on the K. The separate table top stand works nicely cause you can adjust the height of the shelf to your liking via the table leg adjustments. However, since I have the platform table legs spread to their widest, I caution against putting too much weight in the middle. A shelf is not as rigid in the middle as a keyboard. So, I'm limiting what I have in the center of the shelf. If I ever needed to add a lot of weight on top of the table I would reinforce the middle where the table is weakest (cause the slide apart table extension is just two tubes). BTW, the two bookcase ends are just Closet Maid organizers that I got at Target for $17 each. They're actually much more stable than many expensive speaker stands I was considering, plus there's a lot of storage space inside for manuals, music books and small gear. It all works out perfectly for my particular needs.Lougheed wrote:I like your setup! Is the stand holding the keyboard and providing the shelf for the computer, computer keyboard etc. custom built? Finally I got time to add to this list of photos!
My desk is a custom desk that a friend made for me specifically for the Kronos 88. The lower shelf is a slide shelf that allows the Kronos to slide in when I'm using the computer more, or out when I need the Kronos. The monitors are BlueSky 5's with a BlueSky sub.

Thanks!
Chris
