Today was the first time I turned on Kronos since it came back from repairs (PSU replacement, memory and OS upgrade).
It takes 2:26 seconds to boot up...slightly longer than before..no big deal. But the fan is significantly louder. Previously, I would have a slight hum which stayed consistant. Now when I turn it on, I immediately noticed the fan is much louder, it quiets to a slight hum like before while booting, and then returns to the initial louder sound. This stays this way while the Kronos is on. Maybe its the memory that needs more cooling...but I like it the way it was before. I may have the memory taken out.

Sounds to me that the Korg boys have realised that the fan wasn't doing the job. What worries me is that korg aren't telling us the whole story. I wouldn't think the ram would have anything to do with the heat, more like the psu and board, and that's precisley why they replaced it. I really want more feedback from Korg here. I dont want to find in 13 months, one month out of warranty or so, that I have an expensive fix here in Aussie

Ha ha - big deal.jahrome wrote:15,000 yen in Japan. My wife just said...welcome to Japan. It costs $200-$300 more to buy a Kronos in Japan than in the US. Times have changed....10 years ago, the Triton Rack was $800 in Japan and close to $2000 in the US. Korg got me and my friends kicked off eBay for selling Triton Racks and expansion boards. lol
If costs £2800 = $4200 for a Kronos 73 in the UK, which is why I bought mine in the States.
