I don't have ASD loaded on my computer anymore, but I flew it into my DAW which allows to stretchy of to 2x. I'm not sure it's a straight ARP. At a very minimum, it's running through a delay, and it may very well actually be two separate parts because it sounds like some bending or modulation on some notes but not others - could be artifacts of my time stretching.
That said, the notes I hear are D E G (below) G (above) G (below) repeat.
Now, If you forget the low G's, the notes that stand out are D E (pause) G (pause )repeat. And it almost sounds like the lower G's could be doing some sort of sustained modulation that puts them in the pattern where you hear them in the pause.
But if you just include the low G's where the pauses are and put a delay on the whole thing, you probably couldn't tell the difference. Although I'd put some flange or phaser on it.

Know what would be an amazing addition?
Drive- The Cars. All those great pads and sounds.
Ooh, Whilst writing that, another would be the "I'm Not In Love" choirs by 10CC, but I'm not sure that's possible what with how the sound was actually created.
But the fist set is stunning, thanks for those.

10cc used a Melatron so you could sample it as Meletrons where just tape loops, the first samplers I suppose so it could workJoe Gerardi wrote:Know what would be an amazing addition?

No. 10CC recorded their own voices at different pitches then used the mixing board as a keyboard to "play" the sliders up and down as needed for proper pitch.
No Mellotron on the piece at all.

It was unbelievable how 10CC recorded that piece. Especially considering how many years ago that was.
Regarding "I'm not in love", something that contributed to that really massive sound was Lol Creme's early Gizmo, a device which used spinning wheels to stroke guitar strings, and produced fabulous synthetic tones which are extremely hard to reproduce any other way. You can hear it clearly in the isolated "recall notes" towards the end of the song. And if I recall, there was no mention of it in the liner notes, strangely, even though it was on other songs in 10CC albums from 1974 onwards.
PRAY FOR THIS PLANET!!
Phil Colin's also recorded his vocals on the song Afterglow from Wind and Wuthering. Genesis' mellotron was broken at the time of recording so worked around it recording Phil's vocal.

I have a question concerning the 'Lucky Man' patch. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to add modulation (Vibrato) w/ the joystick. I have searched and searched. If you have a suggestion, please someone give me a clue!
BTW, sounds are excellent. I am using Baba O'Riley, Won't Get Fooled, Tom Sawyer, and trying to work out Frankenstein with my band. Great work.

To add joystick vibrato, goto:
EX1==>OSC/BASIC==>PITCH COMMON. At the right you'll see LFO. In the JS+Y INTENSITY enter a value of 1.60.
Do the same for EXi2.
If you want more or less, just adjust that 1.60 value.
To change speed of the vibrato, goto:
EXi1==>STEP SEQ/LFO==LFO1. Change the value of the FREQUENCY from the 68 to something more your liking.
When you get it the way you like it, WRITE the program.
Busch.
