MUTE SCENES
I'd really like it if we could instantly jump between 4 different combinations of parts being muted. This could be activated by using shift and either 1-2-3 or 4
This would be a great way of generating fills within a pattern in a performance context. 4 mute scenes should be enough to capture the main States of a pattern. For example breakdown, drop, intro, fill.
If the chip can handle it then why not include synth, mixer & fx settings within these scenes. The Yamaha RS7000 had this feature and it was great for squeezing every last bit of variation out of an individual pattern.

You would face the infamous pattern change bug, since what you're asking is basically achievable by having 4 identical patterns in separate memory slots, with just different mute settings.immon wrote:If the chip can handle it then why not include synth, mixer & fx settings within these scenes.
On a broader range, I suspect that any functionnality that would alter the e2pat structure and file format is a no go, since it would break compatibility with electribe2 sporting a lower firmware build. I'm still convinced there's a software editor and real USB drivers around the corner for the e2/e2s.
BTW, has anyone noticed how fast (i.e. realtime) are pattern changes on the e2? I mean, the engine loads new parameters and starts playing in a snap.

yeah I think you are correct about the filters, mixer & fx. That would be too much. But surely they could sneak the mutes in?
Is file compatibility with a lower firmware builds really an issue do think
If you are exchanging files (patterns) then you'll be using the internet anyway and therefore be able to update your firmware.
I might be missing something here I guess.

1. addition of an effects trail like on KP3 (this should solve click issues)
2. a way to copy parts to any pattern, not just with in the same pattern
3. the option toggle pads in jump step mode from latch to momentary
4. a shift command to hit shift+record to activate motion sequence
5. a user sound bank selection. The ability to save a "part" as a "sound" to recall for use.
6. A Global setting to change the Part Erase behavior to 'Instant' or 'Immediate'.
7. A global setting to set The Pitch knob to only select pitches that are in the scale you are in.
8. In Part Utility a setting to select the note / pitch of a part, in the case of using that part as drum part.
9. Move metronome setting into global utility.
10. Original value sign...in the LCD Display. Remember when you would get this indicator of the original position of your knob on electribes to tell you when you have set the knob back to it's original position. Yeah we need that back!
11. Shift + command to switch Arp types from Note Repeat / Trigger type (what we have now) to Standard (what we don't have and want). Standard is the same Arp set up as what was in the EMX and now in the Korg Tactile. There needs to be the following functions:
a. Notes will be played consecutively from low pitches to high.
b. Notes will be played consecutively from high pitches to low.
c. Up and Down will be alternated. (The highest and lowest notes will be played once.)
d. Up and Down will be alternated. (The highest and lowest notes will be played twice, once on the way up,
and once on the way down.)
e. Notes will be played randomly.
Maybe, these 5 can be just added as part of the Arp Patterns list but called as "note triggering patterns".

Wishlist entry #1:
RENDER EVENT RECORDER PERFORMANCE
Add an audio rendering menu option to the Event Recorder section so that after the electribe captures a performance, it can then render that Event Recorder performance as a .wav audio file and save to SD card.
Wishlist entry #2:
RANDOMIZE/SHUFFLE part
Just for fun, experimentation it would be cool to just use a random/shuffle option to load all 16 part slots with a random osc. Sometimes I find myself going after the same sounds and this might be a way to pair up part voices that I wouldn't normally put together. Kind of like how Propellerhead Figure upon launch will just randomize the synth voice / key / tempo for you.

12. No Motion Sequence recording when the Motion Sequence is OFF
13. Part Edit needs to delete Motion Sequence as well as note data and Sequence data
14. Quantize ALL notes when using Touch Scale with Arp Gate. The first note right now is quantized with the rest of the arped notes,,,this needs to change.

UI anybody
I am really amazed by that little machine and what sounds it can produce.
But I have to admit there are some functions and features that are not working like they should or could.
I have read all the suggestions in this thread an some on other forums and you bring some very nice suggestions and improvements.
What I was missing in all these discussion was the user interface.
I am not sure if you think the same way, but the information given in the standard display is not really useful.
Due to the potentiometers that stay in their place when switching through the parts and patterns, I was missing some overview for their values.
Yes I know that it is possible to switch through the values with <and>.
But when you are honest, that is not very convenient.
So I thought of another user interface and redesigned it in the original pixel dimensions.
You can find an overview and description of my design in the image below.
Please be honest and let me know what you think of it.
I will then probably mail it to KORG and see what they will reply.

Isakeit,
I have made a few posts about some ways the display can be improved but it seems it went unnoticed. I completely agree with you with your ideas. As of right now the display is being underutilized and inefficiently, too.
As of now there are a number of things that should be fixed -
- original values should be indicated, (your solution is a good one!)
- unable to see modulation type selected
- part osc type should be visible even when not on osc type.
I think you should go ahead and email korg your suggestion! Nice work
