pa4x PCM USER Ram 400mb or 800mb ??

I agree with Anthony. The Pa4x is just a computer, but an old style one. The Oasys uses a Pentium Processor and a PC Motherboard and was able to have 192 polyphony. The Oasys is regarded as a Legacy machine - so why have we not progressed? The point was that 400 Mb is not enough in this day and age to be really useful - just a tease.
As a side note, processing time is being used to decompress the sample while they are being accessed which is a potential possibility of latency problems. That is why claiming 800Mb just because you are using a compression algorithm is just admitting you didn't add enough memory in the first place.

Is just friendly discussion

Thanks to Tony I fully understand reason having samples loaded to RAM.
Just to bad developers didn't came out yet with better way, at least the way Kronos handling Samples.
BTW Kronos is cheaper that Pa4x, but has way much space for samples.

As I've mentioned in past , if user samples were using streaming method as factory samples then custom samples
size could be 5 Gb (using 400Mb Ram) , far away from any other keyboard brand !
But at present time Pa OS stracture and hardware restrictions do not allow this feature to be provided in Pa4X for
end users , probably this will be the primary feature in Pa5X !
