Until it comes out, I doubt that it can be confirmed, however there's absolutely no functional reason that it wouldn't load into our existing Kronos boards.

Maybe this model, the LS, is limited for japan/asian market

I would not expect miracles from the new OS. An update is always welcome (and appreciated!) but what is announced on the Japanese website is the split option as the main novelty
Now this might be very handy for novel users (and for us as well), but with Combi's we could already do all of that.
Seems to me the LS version is targeted at a slightly different audience.

I suffer a lot for the lack of
a quick split/layer function,
it's true that it's possible to do it with
combinations, but way too long and complicated
to do "on the fly" during gigs,
too many steps to do.

Seems to me you can set up 10 basic splits/layers in set list and label them for a good view

This will heavily narrow down the number of possible buyers, and from my view is a ridiculously amateurish management decision.
Can you please explain how you use Aftertouch now?
One simple example (of many possible) is playing a split with both hands busy, and you would like to add some vibrato to your left hand pad sound or disco strings at certain points, while playing a lead with your right hand. There are lots of ways in which aftertouch can be useful.

Still you have to take note of the two programs to use,
(otherwise there's no way to find them quickly),
assign them,
copy effects from first program,
copy effects from second program and change the routing,
copy the other effects...
too many steps, others already ended playing the song.

I guess I was not clear.

create them in advance of your gig and use set list to view/bring them up as your live performance dictates

I understood to create basic splits combis to adapt to needs.

The problem is that very often I can't know in advance
what split I will need.
With other keyboards,
select one sound, select split point if different from default,
select second soound and go.
Or select first sound, select layer, select second sound.
5 seconds. In kronos 5 minutes at least. It's not acceptable.

that would be difficult. To have a gig and never have an idea what song ( the leader?) will be selected. Or what song is coming next.

why do so many companies abort aftertouch, is it so expensive to implement?

I was really thinking I'd pick up this board, but now I'm not so sure. The after touch issue doesn't really bother me, it's the schleping and size of the board. It's still 40 lbs, 65lbs with a case. if korg had put the ribbon/buttons/bender above the keys I think it would be a much more manageable schlep for the weekend warrior. If korg releases a 73/76 LS version (which I doubt) I'd order that right now.

It's not, really. I don't understand companies that routinely remove it. It costs like a dollar or two to implement, at most.
