Hi JP
No - as long as you are at 2.0 all should be fine to update to 3.0.0 (according to Korg!!!)
Cheers
Pete
(Now you'll be able to enjoy the new screen colours etc...

As Pete says Korg insist on OS2. I never bothered with 2.0.2 (or 2.2 whichever), its working from 2.0.1
Don't forget to clear your sample memory in addition to a 'Save All' -

jpires wrote:Great news! I am still running 2.0 OS, I never get to update to 2.2 OS.
My question is: do I have to update to 2.2 OS before I go ahead und install
Pa4x Next 3.0?
Thanks
JP
Important Note on updating your Pa4X
- Before installing this update, be sure your Pa4X already includes OS v2.0.0 (you can check it in the Media > Utility page). If it still includes a previous version (v1.x.x), please download and install v2.0.0 before installing this update.

Hello company,
Finally my PA4X International has been upgraded. I took the procedure correctly. RAM has been cleared. Now, for two more hours, I find that it does not load all the samples at restart. Some stay gray. So some sounds work only partially, but in the meantime individual zones are missing. My set was 341 MB in version 2.2. I tried to save on the internal DISK, on HD, SD and also on USB. I get different results each time.
Original (V2.2): 341.31 MB, 10 Dir, 211 File.
Disk (V3.0): 199 MB, 10 Dir, 174 File
HD (V3.0): 206.38 MB, 10 Dir, 174 File,
SD (V3.0): 202.41 MB, 10 Dir, 174 File
USB (V3.0): 202.41 MB, 10 Dir, 174 File
Has anyone tried it? What are your experiences?

As Rik says:-
Don't forget to clear your sample memory in addition to a 'Save All'
Also I found that the update does NOT like the pkg/upd file buried in a directory tree - I got "invalid file" after the verification phase - I then placed the PKG file in the root directory of the USB and all worked fine.

But "karmathanever", a sample RAM was cleaned before the startup update. Exactly everything according to the instructions. So I do not understand why this is happening.

I followed the instructions and everything went exactly as stated. All I did was unzip the file, pop it on a usb stick and went from there. Not had much time to explore yet but I do prefer the darker display.

Successfully updated and been playing for the last 3 hours non stop. So far I am impressed with everything except the new display. It's not good. Font is too small and colours just not right. Please can we have choice of displays. I really miss the old one already.

RAM has been cleared.
A number of people have mentioned this. What is it?
Something I need to do, or simply a result of doing the upgrade?

Its just the result of the new upgrade. I dont think there is any adjustment other than the lcd brightness

Hello KORG NEXT!
Updated: no problem.
Loaded close to 400Mb of compressed samples: no problem.
Sounds, looks and feels very good so far, specially the passage from one sound to another very smooth, no glitch. No clock issue even after a restart.
Yes, the phantom power is off.
In the beginning the screen looks a bit fuzzy, but after couple of hours I got to appreciate all the new look.
Tons of memory.
Thank you KORG, EXCELLENT work!
