TheDoctor - thanks for the reply, you are correct, best to do the tweaking of the loop point on the device itself,
I'll probably audition the samples and choose a smaller group to use initially, so it's not going to be a big deal.

I have some more questions but think its better that I get the electribe first,
play with it and ask only if don't figure out something, that's part of the fun in having new gear.

For my taste I definitely would go for the sampler (it’s much more flexible)...

The build in Oscillator, make this device a nice all around groove box.
Surely the synth version is still a groove box but you'll end up with its limitations.
Also for everyone with the Sampler, start to layer drum with synth drum...it's basically a mini Elektron Analog Rytm.
