Bugs on 1.1.0 O.S - general discussion

Hi, as far as I can tell, I can edit styles, plus import and export as .mid files.
Don’t know if there’s any glitches , I haven’t had a chance to check the result.
But it saves.

You cannot record and edit a style even with this update?

Hi Sam, as far as I can tell you can. I am slightly confused about some of the comments being made. The functions are there, maybe something goes wrong in the save itself?? and that’s the complaint . Hope to get to spend sometime this afternoon now that I’ve updated. I’ve only had mine for a month or so, and I didn’t bother getting too involved with the old operating system. Bugs would have annoyed the heck out of me. Now with the update I’ll do some more checking. Haven’t had a Korg in 3 years , so a bit rusty. Haha. But from memory the style editing functions are as I remember on the earlier korgs. I used to do most of my editing in my pc sequencer, though.

Note transposition table "no transpose" still not working (very important on my work)...

Hi , is just not saving correctly, because No Transpose is definitely showing up in the editor.

Sorry haven’t got time to check it thoroughly myself just at the moment, I just have a 5 min break .

Hi, I certainly don’t regret buying PA5x, bugs and all. Just great having a Korg again after 3 years.Haven’t had a great deal of time to spend on it since updating,but I did decide to put my Pa4x style thru again. When I initially did it, it took something like 8 hrs to put all the .set’s thru, this morning , the same style .sets took about an hour. Mine are purely old styles, no samples or user sounds involved. Plus initially there were a few styles that didn’t work at all, this time they all loaded. Don’t know if they all work ok or not, too big a job to check them all.

As a programmer, I know this with the Python programming language, when the transition was made from the Python 2 series
to the incompatible Python 3 series ...

Just FYI , main GUI / DSP are programmed using Python 3.6

Hi ,
The import/export function in the style editor isn’t working correctly.
Export style as .mid , import it back in, even with no editing, and it doesn’t sound right. Changes overall volume, I think it even changed a voice, and the effects don’t sound right. I was playing around with Break Pop Ballad.

Hi Pete, pretty sure import/export has major bugs, but I’ll spend a bit more time on it before I post it to the Problem report thread, just in case it’s me doing something wrong.

As far as I know, Korg has announced an OS update where the EDIT menu for SEQUENCER, STYLE, PAD will be incorporated.
Style to midi recording. Date for October 2023. Unfortunately very very very slow reaction for customers, response

Not a BUG, simply a question and couldn't find a better Topic to post it under, and didn't wish to start such a short thread.

I'm finally doing my 1.1.0 update, and am reloading my backup. My keyboard was fairly stock with only a few changes here and there, but nothing was over-written from the factory.

The Loading instructions from the User Manual weren't the clearest on whether I should be selecting 'REPLACE ALL' when loading my KST Backup. I'm thinking it's best NOT TO, so that it merges my KST with whatever KORG has added to the 1.1.0 release.

Is this the best method, or should I select REPLACE ALL?

Thanks Rikki - Good video, but didn't offer any information for handling your KST Backup.

All manuals expressly tank about how to Back it up and to ensure you do, yet none of them seem to do a god job telling you how to restore that data... At least IMHO

- At present moment Pa5X OS updates do not contain any USER data (if will in the future then will be noted in manual).
- Pa5X user has no access anymore to factory resources , so never worry , nothing will be altered in factory resources
of whatever you try !
- Replace All option has to do only with User data and will recall from backup only the created folders of Styles/KBD Set
/PAD and will prevent from duplicates with present resources that are existing there , so yes , if you load a full backup
it's advised to click that option.

Bear in mind that except SOUND resources that work as in Pa4X , all other resources are treated as name and not position
elements and files work just like in your computer explorer.
