From all those specs I've seen at present time about MENDELI , it seems that they move at the right direction and in future they might
release a real Korg & Yamaha competitor that would be based on third-party developers sound libraries like VST host in Music production
and allow Musicians to equip and invest on their arrangers sound library they really need.
IMO in 2023 we need a superb hardware arranger & UI with quality keybed & control panel with top-notch sampler that can support
articulation scripting with many on board controllers with over 64GB capability of streaming from disk samples where we will pay for essentials
50% of price and invest the other 50% on specific sound libraries we really need for our live performing.

I, know One of the Medeli programmer and creator of ZEN model.Great guy.
They are on something BIGG!
And he says whenever it comes out, then we can forget everything that we got.
I believe him, because he always told things that was right.

Hi Asena, just out of interest, do you know what the style format is, ie it’s own format or does it load Yamaha styles. It’s certainly very Yamaha, like.
It appears to only have 280 styles. To attract the masses and be a serious contender for Yamaha, going to require a lot more than that. Tend to believe Yamaha is as popular as it because of the user groups. Members have been converting styles from other brands and creating styles for the last 20+ years, there’s literally 1000’s of them, plus all the factory styles from prior models. Hobbyists love collecting styles.
It appears that it has style editing, which is great, hopefully there’s also some way of editing in a Daw.
It certainly sounds amazing for the price.

@ £4249 for the Ketron Event
No way on the planet.
In the UK there is effectively Zero distribution, Zero network, Zero Music Stores that stock it.
Then there is the price, the 5X is stupid money especially for a Beta product so who in their right mind would pay £4k for an arranger.
The comparing of a £600 Medeli and a £4k Ketron questions the logic of those compiling the video.
Mind you Medeli have the same distribution system here in England as Ketron, ie non existant

Hi, difficult to find Ketron here also . Actually spotted a store this morning whilst browsing $8,499 aud for the Event.
Admittedly Korgs aren’t cheap either , but most shops have them discounted 76 note $7299 aud. there abouts.
Being a longtime customer , I did better than that for my 88 note.
Found Medeli piano thru some obscure online music store. Just out of interest I wrote to them to see if they’re planning on getting the keyboards. Be interesting to see if they bother getting back to me.

My local dealer had the PA5x-76 for AUD$7,500, then dropped to $7,000, then dropped to $6,800
Has sold it/them now but is offering backorder for $6,999 - so are they dropping or are they just not selling?

The Event is going to be available from Bonners in the UK. Thus Tony will do a demo most likely.
That will probably help shift some units.
I solely bought the Pa5X88 based on Tony's demo.
Traded in my RD2000.
I shouldn't have bothered and instead gone for a cheap keyboard with a better than Fatar weighted keybed.

Heck, even keeping the Roland and opting for a cheap Yamaha would have better. Could have saved thousands of pounds.
The problem is in the demos the keyboards can sound amazing. This is just not the reality in long term use. I never considered the lack of registrations (crucial to how I like to play / set things up) or lack of third party styles that are just not available for Korg or Ketron on the same scale as Yamaha. Ketron has registrations but only via the Menu. That is horrible. When I found out the Korg can't even export internally to Wav with all that SD expansion I installed straight away I was literally stunned. I don't get it. £4300 for this?!
The Event menu system and lack of style buttons seems insane. IE. You can't even switch from a variation to an intro, back to variation and to ending without using the menu.
A toy Yamaha SX600 seems more professional.

Hi, on Bonners site. Under sampling, does it only say Sample Editor ie you can’t actually sample on the keyboard itself? The guy I was chatting to on the other forum, must have misunderstood my question.

Hi, have I got the wrong definition of a “sampler, “ I thought a sampler was used for recording samples , not just importing and editing samples, or has the definition changed over the years? My first sampler was an ensoniq mirage , back in the 80’s.
I couldn’t find anything on the Event actually being able to record samples in the manual. Or have I just plain missed it.

Well , It cant SAMPLE, It can Load and build the samples you created on your DAW/PC or converts, Also just having only 4 layers is Buuuuuu
So i,m waiting for the YAMAHA, IF Yamaha can make anything that i like, i will go over to that, If not, Just using my Laptop for Solo sounds with Sample Tank, and use my Pa 4 X as a Styler .
