Hi Qui, the way it currently works , has its pro’s and con’s. Good for midi files, disaster for styles with multiple program changes.QuiRobinez wrote: it's even worse with that christmas style, if you just select a different drumkit then all the drumkits are the same. The program change is neglected.
You don't even have to save it to the songbook.
To be honest, i was really happy that it worked that way, because changing midi files (revoicing) is now so easy to do with the fact that once it was changed you didn't need to modify the program changes in the midi file.
But i can see how annoying this can be if you have a style with multiple program changes per variation.
thanks for the explanation.
FYI: I use Onsong on the ipad as the songbook over there.
One has to be extremely careful and check to see if changing a drum kit or instrument is going to adversely affect the style.
Fortunately not all of them have those multiple program changes.
Anything I create for myself I try and keep the instruments the same in each of the variations etc.
Hard to know whether it’s a bug (hopefully) or some strange new design.
Either way for me, using user styles ( even if they are just a saved factory style, ) in songbook works.
I figure should I ever want to do any editing to the style, my songbook will still be linked to it, whereas if I use a factory style and I want to edit the style itself, I’d have to save as a user, then redo the songbook entry.
As you mentioned earlier, we are no longer constrained by the amount of user styles we have. I love that new system for styles.
Checked out Onsong, sounds amazing, especially the pro version.
For me not worth swapping, I just use it to pick the songs in songbook and to store my sheet music.
Truly amazing what can be done with an iPad app.
