All are working fine , therefore all of you must see in info 8KB preloading buffer size per sample as maximum value else something is wrong with resources.
Hi Antony,
I've did some additional testing in an empty sample memory.
TEST 1: import multisample in empty environment
loading a 12 Megabyte kmp file (mono)
Result:
12 Megabyte samples loaded
preload 7 Megabytes
Test 2: saving the samples on the pa5x and export them
then I loaded each of the samples (from the 7 megabytes preload internal, from the previous step) and save them separately
Result:
Preload 104 kb
So when you import my KMP file it obviously saves it with the preload feature on (even if the Preload is set to off)
test 3:
export the multisample with the correct saved samples on the pa5x and import it again
result:
perfect:
12 Megabytes on samples and a preload of 104 kb
test 4:
loading one KSF file from that KMP folder
That sample loads only 8 kb in the preload buffer
So based on these tests, I think that they have changed the way the multisample is imported (probably due to the copyprotect flag that is added).
I Export KMP files in KMP format from samplerobot and now the preload is very high for the samples, even though the preload flag is set to off.
A workaround is to import the multisample and then manually save every sample one by one in the pa5x after the import of the multisample. This solves the preload registration and you see after the save that the preload buffer goes down to the original value.
I'm not sure why your KMP files are working, maybe it's because the samplerobot files are in korg kronos format (although I always thought that the KSC / KMP format was identitical on all korg gear).
How do you import your KMP files?
My method is:
- open the sample page
- press the menu button
- select the multisample page
- import the multisample (the samples are added automatically and are mapped automatically)
