Hi Simon (D575),
That's interesting about a potential Roland Arranger.
I have pretty much had it with 'flagship' arrangers. I don't want to be a 'Test Pilot' anymore. I always find that the mid-range instruments tend to be half the price but have 75% of the flagship built into them.
I know your mentioning a Roland flagship but it will be far cheaper than a PA5X or Genos 2. Maybe if there is a replacement for the PSR-SX900 that also might be an option for me.
I wonder if there are any Members out there that tend to use their arrangers more as a sound module than for the arranger features. I know I do, more so now that I tend to solely play the Nautilus 88 which does not have an arranger engine (it does have an arpeggiator feature though).
Chris
I know it's irrelevant to this conversation but I honestly think the Yamaha DGX670 is the best pound for pound value for money arranger available today (weighted piano keyboard with stand and pedals) for less than £1,000. A low price, but crammed with features.
Can we all agree the Pa5x has tremendous untapped potential?

Having the same issue with replacement control panel buttons with Korg Uk, so like you still waiting...
Regarding Roland, the available information is limited as it was briefly mentioned in a discussion about PA5X and Korg...
Your suggestion of combining a midpoint arranger with other keyboard instruments is a valid approach, as it can result in a more versatile and powerful performance setup compared to using a standalone top-of-the-line arranger keyboard...
Personally, I have preferred using a top-of-the-line arranger as the master keyboard while incorporating other sound sources via MIDI. However, with the introduction of the Montage M8x, I have shifted towards using it as the master keyboard, primarily for its keybed, while still prioritizing essential functions from the PA5X. Setting up the MIDI connections between these devices and other sound sources has require some experimentation to achieve the desired functionality but all worth while in the end.

Hi Chris, there was “chatter” that the sx900 might be being replaced on the psr style forum, might just be wishful thinking rather than fact.chelsea4023 wrote:Hi Simon (D575),

I had mine connected via midi to my PA5x for a while, but bit of a nightmare setup using 2 arrangers.
I then connected it to my Roland FP10 which was far less complex.
Don’t know if you’ve ever owned an sx900 , just in case you haven’t,
I still had to do all the button pressing on the sx itself, ie my piano doesn’t send out control changes, bank and program changes etc , never tried an actual controller keyboard with it.
One good thing about the sx though , is it’s registrations and it’s registration bank sequencer. You could set up all the registrations for a song 1 to 8, then put the numbers into the sequencer in the order you want them played back.
Just say you set registrations up in this order, Ie 1 intro, 2 verse 3 chorus, 4 .verse 2 etc, 5. Chorus 2 , 6 end.
In the sequencer you could put 1, 4, 3 , 6 . Then with a simple tap of a pedal , it would play back intro1, tap, verse 2, tap , chorus , tap end.
Basically not having to touch sx, if you choose not too.
I’m guessing they wouldn’t remove this type of function in the next model.
Other option , Ketrons have arranger modules , or one of the members here the other day mentioned he was going down the software arranger route.
best wishes
