Correct. If the MIDI file does not have markers, then you can add them manually in a DAW. The markers are defined as v1cv1, v1cv2, v2cv1 etc., refer to the Korg PA5X manual pp892 onwards.

Page 895 of the manual says PA5X imports a standard MIDI; and Page 896 says it exports as SMF format 0 (Zero). So I understand that the MIDI file with markers should be of type SMF 0, to be successfully imported.

insert effect on drums routed to out 1/2

Post by nicky_p »

Hi!
I noticed after the 1.3.0 update that if I route my drums to output 1/2 the inserts don't work.
For the Bass channel are working fine.
Is there any reason this to happen?
Why KORG don't put the beta in the hands of working professionals for testing?

Fixed /No Transpose doesn't work in Styles And Pads

Post by MrMark »

Steps to reproduce a bug:
1. Record -> New Style
2. Use var1 cv1. Record an ACC track written in A minor (Root = A, Type = m) in CV1 and put the following notes: A(minim), C(crochet), E (crochet). I used ACC1 for the test.
3. Set Ntt type = fixed, NTT table = No Transpose.
According to the documentation (page 817)
The programmed notes are never transposed when chords
are changed. They can’t even be transposed by the Master
Transpose.
So I read: it will remain A,C,E no matter what chord appears in the left hand when I play the style.

Now define a fill-in with whatever parts (for our convenience). And save the style.

Setup is done. Now play the style:
1. As long as we play chords in the Left hand and var1 is activated - all good, it always plays A->C->E
2. Now press Fill In and during the fill in press any other chord, for example, E7.
3. Here is a bug: after the style returns to the var1, A->C->E is not played anymore, instead you hear E, G, B...

Conclusion: An NTT combination of Fixed/No Transpose doesn't work.
The same happens also in the pads: if the part with A->C->E is recorded in the pad and that pad plays together with a style, it won't play right as well after the Fill In uses any other chord but Am...

I can't say, whether it used to be like that in 1.2.1 but in 1.3.0 it's certainly the case on my machine.

The same here. It was an old bug which solved in OS1.2.1 but it came back in OS1.3.0! Now I have to return back to the OS1.2.1 again.

That's a shame!!!

Loss of tone samples - lost tones

Post by Korg2024 »

I lost some tones. By installing the new system 1.3, tones are lost. Why didn't anyone inform us about it? How can I find those tones now? It's an understatement to say I'm disappointed. This is totally unprofessional! Instead of doing better, they correct one mistake and make 5 more! Does anyone from the KORG team even read what we write?!? Shame... I'm angry and disappointed. One instrument, one subject is not worth our annoyance and time wasting! Instead of enjoying and sharing good experiences, we solve other people's problems. Shame and insolence!

What tones did you lose? Are those factory tones or some of your personal sampled tones? The update erases all the user data/banks; I guess you would have made a backup before doing the update.

Finally, yesterday night I managed to update my Korgie to 1.3.0 and I have not had the time to explore it. Maybe this weekend after work, I'll spend sometime to understand the raw OS the new features, new bugs, etc., and eventually restore my old data

Not factories. The samples I put in. Multi-samples are phallic.
It's lost 3 to 5 tones for lot multisamples. I did make a back-up, but I worked on the set for several days. And now how to connect those 2 sets. One set is before update. I've had a few changes these past few days. And I just realized that I'm missing tones in the samples. Some even switched places. For example... One instrument received several tones from another instrument. I'm going crazy!

Not exactly... Fixed - no transpose option should be afected by Master transpose like on every other korg PA model.... But youre right.... There a big bug on that option since os 1.0..... It does not work as it should be... Like every other korg pa model...

I'm sorry that I gave you the wrong information, but in previous versions of the software, when I couldn't import midi in to Korg, I changed the format to 1 and it accepted it, that's why I wrote to you.
