Really basic question but I can't figure it out or find the answer anywhere. How do you get the files from the organizer to the card? I don't see any sort of export button to drag the files from the organizer. I have a built in smartmedia card slot on my pc but I can't make the connection

Also, what program do you use to open files on the smartmedia card?

Thanks. I think I'm getting it. I still can't figure out what program to use to open .esx files though from the card itself

I have an esx, smart media cards, and a pc adapter so i can get the smart media stuff onto my computer.
but my problem is I want to be able to just take a song from the smartmedia card and just you know save it as an mp3 or something. I can't figure it out. I have tried the esx wave organizer and i couldnt figure out just how to save the song as an mp3 somewhere else.
All i want is a way to convert all the files i put onto my smartmedia card from .esx to .mp3 just so i can post them and save them.
I have also tried goldwave and that didn't help either. I just need an overall walkthrough or just a program that will show the files on my card and allow me to convert or mess with them or save them as an mp3.
I know this is possible but I have searched long and hard and have yet to find anything helpful. Thanks.

you can't just take a file containing midi patterns and sample data and magically convert it into mp3.... it doesn't work that way. You have to actually record electribes output onto the computer.... the esx wave organizer is for organizing your samples and I must say after digging further into it, it's not a half bad software.
I'll tell you there's no software that does what you want to do, and there won't be because it makes no sence. The song mode on the electribes is pretty useless... electribes are more live oriented and the song mode was something that was hacked togeher so more people would want to buy it.

okay
i think i get it now
thank you a lot though dude.
i am super super new at this and was just confused on how to do this but i now think i get it. you were nice enough to tell me straight up though everyone i asked didn't really tell me specifically
but you have been a good help.
and now i think i know what i need
but i still have some questions...
when i get the cord to connect my electribe into my computer to record would i want put it in the output? i would have guessed that but i read somewhere else it works in the headphone. is there a big difference? i just want it to sound really good is all
and i also want to know what software you guys would recommend as an easy to use program to do all this stuff with? i prefer it if i could get it for free or a cracked version of it. but like i said i am completely new to this.
but it makes a lot more sense now.
Thanks so much

Requests! (Probably beat to death but hey, I'm bored)
I would love to:
-Be able to drag samples wherever you want. (copy and paste function would be great!)
-Be able to delete select patterns only in pattern editor.
-Re-sizable windows.
Love the program by the way, speeds things up 500% at least. So good!

Ok I understand all of the logistics of how this program works, I have a 128MB card...now this is where computers and I don't get along: I am using a Dell Inspiron 6400, it has one of those multi-type-card-reader thingies in the side, I have never used it...I totally just got my damn card stuck in there
what the heck I can program all this hardware and I cant figure out how to get a card in a slot, what is WRONG with me
*EDIT* the card reader in the hell inspiron does not take the SM card

so how am I supposed to do this? Can I do it via MIDI or is there some kind of adapter........
(sorry i'm being a moron)

go to your local bestbuy/circuit city/staples/any place basicly
and buy a multi card reader
when you find the package read it over and make sure it accepts sm cards
for some reason most of them do even though employees at the stores would look at you funny if you ask about smart media

very useful app.. thank you very much.
it could benefit greatly by a very small addition.. multi-select deleting. like... just add a 'delete' feature/button to the sample organizer windows... please ?

this software hasn't been improved since its initial release a long time ago.

I'm assuming you're talking about the electribe side... either way works.. I currently have em running from headphone output... they're the same thing just one is split into two mono plugs.
