Thanks so much for the explanations and links. I've used my X50 for a while and I can program sounds and splits and layers, etc. but I haven't been very good at adjusting the actual sound to what I want. And, yes, I have read the manual and I have learned how to do a lot but the manual and program pages on my X50 assume that you understand the terminology. As an acoustic wind player and piano player, it was not obvious because I really don't understand all the terminology and I have had trouble finding a resource to understand the basics of synths. I wrote in this forum once before asking about insert effects and why when I saved them, I wasn't getting the sound I expected. The reply was that it was obvious and they weren't going to answer my question. So, your explanations of some of the terminology were very helpful. I'm going to look up the synth links, learn even more about the terminology, and re-read the manual. Should make more sense this time. Thanks!
