Dude , I know what I am talking about and it's not about the basic functions of the PBS-TRI but it's about some technical issues that could happen if you have missed the SRAM chips . Well , I am sure you will realize that what I am telling you is correct since I know many people had the same and I have fixed their TRINITYs myself . I hope you are still enjoying the PBS-TRI kit you bought from me couple of years ago . :wink:

Good luck !

Ah, the technical issue is that the pcm libraries that korg sell years ago, when you load them into the pbsed trinity, they are pointed to the bank C & D.

You can easily load banks C or D into any bank you want (A or B) by navigating the PCG file at a lower level, but of course you would lose all of your A and B patches as you do so.

Thanks, Timo:

That's right, so if anybody have a pbs and don't have the two sram chips, can use anyway the board, so manually load each bank into bank a or b, and lately save it.

But, if anybody have a trinity, don't matter if they have the pbs board or not, is a "must have" those chips, if you want a pair, our friend Mediterranean can supply a pair for you.

I bought to him an hdr-tri board. I'm so happy. Fully loaded trinity, fully loaded fun.

I can now confirm that the double L version of the chip should work ok - I had that kind in my Trinity PRO that I recently sold.

So... I guess both NEC D431000ACZ-70L and NEC D431000ACZ-70LL should do the job. What´s more, from what I gathered, the LL version is readily available from most electronic parts suppliers, as opposed to the single L version.

Hello Friends,

I couldn't help looking at this pics and wonder if this is the battery that goes out on the Trinity's. Where can one find one of these batteries, and is it easy to change? So far mine still works but I wonder if its something I should buy now and save till I need it, or is it a common item. Do you guys have any pics or procedures on how to replace it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

I have a Trinity Pro, and I just bought a set of the NEC D431000ACZ-70L chips. I installed them, but I can't see banks C and D. Do I need to initialize them somehow?

Hi:

Have you installed the right way??? I mean, those chips have a "U" shaped on top, so you must match it with the pic painted on the mainboard.

Put a photo on the forum. We can help.

can you acces only to banks A & B???

Or the trinity freeze when you push bank button more than 2 times??

In combi mode, touch one timbre on bank and see if C & D are grayed or available.

Then, save on disk only banks A & B in combi and prog, global and drum kits. Reinitialize the board. (Power up holding ENTER + 0)

Reload the banks A & B manually.

Tell us what you get.

@keego:

No, I don't have the PBS board. I've been trying to find one. I just bought the chips after reading this thread, to get the C and D banks.

@pegnafroy:

I can only access banks A B and S, and Combi banks A and B. No freezes. I reinitialized the board per your instructions, and banks C and D are still grayed out.

$26.00 USD, including shipping, by the way.

Strange....

Since i have the same chips in my silver beast, the only difference is i have the pbs board. But, i uninstall the board and the extra banks remain here.

I power down and up again and the banks are there.

Just checked, works as i suggested.

Which version of Trinity OS???? Mine is 2.4.1.
