Nope, not even for the expansions... they get loaded into RAM too.

That's right. The point that is being made is that, once the unit has booted and loaded the sounds, you can put the stick in your pocket.
It does not need to remain in the unit the whole gig. Unless someone trips over the power cord, in which case you can insert it again.
But I still think it's a cool idea having it inside the unit.

I guess I should have explained further: What I meant was once you power down, you would have to reinsert the USB device the next time you boot up. So, leave it in except for transporting. I've seen some really cool micro drives, but I do like the idea of installing this inside.
