Since i wasn´t very happy with the Sound of the Lower Notes of my PianoOne Patch,
i have tried to improve this Patch by making it a bit brighter and sharper.
You can judge for yourself. I have named it "PianoTwo" and uploaded it in my patches folder.
It's a tiny download (reasonable purchase price) and will make a very nice piano sound for you as a standalone app or VSTi. Or there is the Vienna Symphonic library which is enormous and also very expensive, but will produce about the best piano sound there is (short of actually playing a piano).
BTW I tried the R3 piano patches and they are hands down the closest thing I've heard to a decent piano on radias. Very nicely done.
I think it's funny that synths rarely come with a piano sound.. I mean I know it's a synth and all, but.... I've played piano ALL my life.. so I'm used to hitting the key and hearing an acoustic piano... I don't care if it's a synth or a Steinway.... so when I see a keyboard of any kind, I immediately visualize (or hear in my head) a piano... lol know what I mean?
I think it would be nice if they were both recorded to audio(in a DAW), in order to blend them, then EQ out clashing frequencies, and get the most out of the 2 patches
I can definately find uses for these, thanks again!
thank you all for the great feedback. Much appreciated!
Note:
I have noticed, that in my "PianoTwo" patch there are problems with clipping.
I guess it must be the overall volume or the effect send which cause the digital
artifacts. I´m working on this and I´ll post an improved patch asap.
i was experimenting a bit with X-Trade´s "unisono detune" approach,
that i found in the tipps&tricks thread to create a new piano patch for the R3.
I´ve named it PianoTri. You can download it here:
note: also updated and improved my PianoTwo patch, shouldn´t do clipping anymore!
If you want all of them, my ElectricPianos library file contains all new patches.
Enjoy playing those keys!
Cheerz!
Thanks to X-Trade for the inspiration!

No problem - its nice to know that something i've come up with has actually turned out to be useful. I have to admit that my 'unison trick' EP on my radias is still my favourite. the detuning effect is quite similar to the way the tone developes in a string sound like piano or guitar.

usingosc 1 in 'unison' mode (as opposed to waveform, cross, or vpm modes), with a very low detune rate, and adjusting the start phase (knob 2) relating to velocity... then add some waveshaping. works well with a sine or triangle for more EP like sounds... square makes a guitar like sound.
important to note NOT the voice unison (voice doubling) mode, but the mathematical detune mode available in osc1.
look at the bottom of page 2 on the sticky tips/tricks thread at the top of this Radias/R3 forum...

Hi, TecRoc.
I am new here, and just bought my R3 a few days ago. I tried your instructions and link, but could not find your sound patches. Is there a new link that you can refer me/us to?
