Great and fast work Korg ! I think we all should be very proud to Korg to finally listen to this user group and helping out the problems that people had with OS 2.0.

What other brand is capable of doing this?

SUPERB KORG !

However, I still feel that Korg needs to use us more as a beta-tester group, because we have proven to be able to find bugs within 1 or 2 days after the new O.S was released.

Now the new OS 2.01 has made good things, but some things are still discovered on this forum. This would not occur if the send 2.01 first to us before release.

Why not give the new OS first to us and then make it worldwide ? If Korg had done this earlier, OS 2.01 was not even necessary.

I know I am asking much, but just building a bridge between Korg user group and Korg company :)

Well if you think a bit we are a beta testers, upgrade is free so there is no need for some special testing and after all we are always first who get the information about new upgrades and first ones who give our feedback to Korg. New upgrade came so fast that i'm now more than certain that Korg people are on this forum and that they are following our posts but they can't grant every little wish.

This was never a problem Amiri. Only PA80 files that have not been individually saved on earlier OS.

Hi Amiri,

Yes, Korg say in the release notes that they have fixed this problem so that Pa80 format drumkits can be imported directly under OS 2.01.

Hi,
I have today downloaded and installed OS and Res 2.01 from the KorgPA website on to my PA2X with no practical problems through the front USB input. However, I am puzzled to see that on switching on the PA2X, it still registers OS 2.00 [20 November 2008] as the current operating system. I have in fact installed the upgrade twice to try to get over the problem but with no success.

Although the KorgPA website is currently showing for download OS V2.01 and RES V2.01, I noticed that when loading the new operating system to the keyboard from the USB-F port, the System Update window showed the file [downloaded as OS 2.01] as OS 2.00.

I am uncertain now whether I have V2.00 or V2.01 installed. Is this perhaps just that Korg have not altered the actual .pkg and .BKP file descriptions to 2.01 or does the KorgPA download facility for V2.01 actually contain the previous V2.00 files?

Can anyone who has downloaded and installed V2.01 clarify, please?

Regards,
Peter J

Mine clearly show OS version 2.01 (Dec 11 2008). Did you format and then install the combined os and res file?

PA2X/PA800 OS 2.0.1 RELEASED

Post by Peter J »

Graham,
Thank you. I have now sorted it.
I had not realised that the OS 2.00 .pkg file was still on my pen-drive and when I called up the PA2X USB-F port in the install window it showed the OS 2.01 Folder with the OS 2.00 .pkg file below. I mistakenly thought the OS 2.01 folder had been opened to show the OS 2.00.pkg file which of course it had not. So subsequently when I opened the folder, the required OS 2.01 file was there and installed fine. My stupidity!
Thank you again.

No problem, don't be so hard on yourself! An easy mistake to make!
