Just to add my 2 pennies worth into this.

I run Legacy Digital on 2 XP machines, 1 Vista machine an Intel Mac in work and a Vista Laptop at home and never once had a problem....

Now this is not because I run Korg's tech support for the UK and I have some magic way of installing it...This doesn’t mean I have better equipment than anyone else..(they are standard shop/online bought machines)....so the problem is with the computer you are installing it on..it's not the fault of the software or the licence system... every copy is the same, every dongle is made the same way, every install is the same. The only difference is the equipment you load it on to...this is the 1 thing that Korg cannot have any control over..

We have this with JamVox also.. poorly managed resources and busy computers mean inefficiencies in hardware performance and reliability...

The software works. It's been tested thoroughly before release..

Ok so you can get a cracked copy...then you need to join the callers who hang up when they insist that I help them with Cubase because they use a Triton and their problem is a Cubase set up.. oops you have a cracked copy and that’s why you can’t call the right support people to solve your problem for you... you buy a legit copy which pays for your product support..... Encouraging piracy just means that software wont get developed and then all you guys will be happy because you wont have anything to install and have a problem with...!! No one wins then....

no probs here with KLCAE on a Macbook Pro.

this is the only software i have to use a dongle with. i'm studio based so it causes no practical problems. i keep the little f*cker tied to a firewire cable so that it won't get lost.

i can see though that it would be a pain in the a*se for those moving around with a laptop. given that the dongle *is* your software (because you can't use it without the dongle) and given that dongles are small, vulnerable and therefore easy to lose or break, gigging about with one of these must be a pretty precarious business.

i support software companies 100% in their efforts to protect their software. i would also encourage them to find alternative, dongle-free methods of providing protection.

real nightmare right now with a macbookpro ... while i have no problems with windows...

on the mac, the sound is crashing, and i cannot use the VST with live, and i cannot update because i got the software second hand - i know you are not suppose to do that, but I've learned this only after spending a good bit of money on it + the controller ...

Actually, the Syncrosoft USB protection that the Korg KLC AE2007 and KLC-DE has not been cracked since 2005.

The Syncrosoft eLicenser technology (now owned by Steinberg) has never had any Mac version cracked and the PC version of some titles were cracked back in 2005.

There was only one version of KLC-DE that was cracked (v1.0 on the PC) and all versions since have never been cracked.

The most recent versions of Cubase and the Vienna Symphonic Libraries also use the same protection and they have not been cracked either.

Dongle technology (from Steinberg or PACE iLok) can cause some grief for some people, but problems can be worked out if you contact the appropriate Tech Support people.

Have you contacted Korg product support about your problem?

You need to contact your original seller so you can get the most current version, one that uses the Syncrosoft USB dongle and works with MacIntels.

I use KLC-1.2 MacIntel USB Dongle + MS20 controller and leave me out of the debate About pirate, i use a license for all my software!!

And IN any host i test it, by test i mean try to work with The KLC-1 it !crash!

Ableton Live 7 LE macintel as AU and VST plugin !Crash!

Logic studio 8.0.2 !Crash!

Stand Alone in mac on My Leopard 10.5.7 MacPro 8 core and My MacBook Tiger 10.4.11 !Crash!

Plogue Bidule as rewire !Crash!

It seems like it "tendentious"

Any Way I disappointed "Korg or Syncrosoft"

and also in the days of My PC win xp it crash in cubase 3 and Logic 5.5.1

With MacIntels, you MUST upgrade KLC-1 to the version 1.2 with the Syncrosoft USB Key. Unless you do, it will not work in ANY host.

ALL of the above are MacIntel processors. You MUST upgrade to KLC v1.2

I have been running KLC-1, KLC-DE, and KLC-AE2007 on various WinXP hosts for years. They all work!!!

Have you contacted your country's Korg Tech Support about your problem?

Many times, any problem can be solved by simply updating to the most current eLicenser software version:

Ok About the latest syncrosoft here is a question i notice that it update a lot!!
Do i need every time they release update to reinstall KLC,KORG say install latest syncrosoft ! before KLC ??

if so may be it will solve my problem....
and may be it got nothing to do with That ?? Today i use Version: 5.4.18.1

For the Record last crash was without 5.4.18.1, I run it i really hope thats the issue

You should not have to update the eLicenser License Control Center software that often. The version you are running IS the most current version:

I would suggest the following:
1) uninstall the LCC center software
2) uninstall the KLC-1 v1.2 software
3) restart computer
4) With USB dongle NOT connected, re-install LCC v5.4.18.1
5) Insert dongle and run LCC software to verify the LCC software can "see" the KLC Licenses -- e.g. MS20 v1.2, MDE-X v1.2, etc.
6) Reinstall the KLC software, making sure you install the MOST current version. Looking at Korguser.net, that should be v1.2.2

7) If you still have problems, then contact your Korg Country Distributor's Product Support:

It is very important that you work through any problem by contacting your Country Korg Tech support, since they have the ability to work with Korg Japan (who are the people who maintain the software).

For some strange reason, some people think Korg support for software is handled differently than for Korg hardware, but this is not true. ALL support for ALL Korg products are first handled by the Korg Country Distributor.

Part of the price you pay for any Korg product goes to the Korg Country Distributor in order for them to provide technical support.

If they can't help, they are the only people who can contact Korg Japan for the "ultimate" help.

Smooth sailing on a Mac G5, but I'm patiently waiting for Synchrosoft support on Receptor, which I understand may be in the works for v1.8.

I don't have any problem with eLicenser (Also Known as Syncrosoft)
I have to add that Most software that is found online are all old versions
witch you probably don't want to have because they still contain bugs that are already fixed

I Actually see no Problem what so ever with the Dongle (Except that it takes up one USB Port)

You can actually buy A New PC Or Mac without having to worry about if the license can still be activated
It really pisses me of when I buy Software And run it on my pc witch will soon be replaced and than finding out that you cannot use it on your New PC

The only problem there really is is that you should not Lose it
In any other case of damage or theft you do not need to worry
License Replacement ain't a Problem when your Dongle Breaks down
and in case of theft or A Fire in your studio (For example) just contact your insurance company to replace everything
Unless you were Stupid and did not insure it, But then your just Stupid And will insure it next time

For the People who are going to ask why they should insure there dongle
Look your the one Who payed for it so why shouldn't you insure it
anything can happen to it
If I'm Correctly they can even see witch license were on your dongle if anything would ever happen to it
So they will be able to replace it
But you are the person responsible for it (Unless the dongle breaks down) so you should be the one insuring it
I Expect that somebody who has a lot of hardware Also insures it
so why shouldn't you insure your software ...

I Also Like to note that I Am Actually waiting For LennarDigital to switch over to it before I buy his Plugins ... Just to make sure that I have software were everybody has payed for to have
(It just pisses me of to see others having it without buying)
