2. This is the cut down sample set for either the Pa800 or the Pa2x. It requires 31 Mbytes of free sample RAM.
Hi Rob,
Is it possible to load this 31 MB piano in the Pa1X also?

Sorry Admar, I used too many Pa800 specific tricks, it won't work in Pa1x.

No, not at all mate.
What I said is based on what I've seen over the years. If you take KORG even, they use to put a lot of effort into making i-Series style disk, dust covers, keyboard stands and so on. Even KORG has pulled way back on all accessories.
The majority of people don't seem to avail accessories / third party developments regardless of who makes them.
Flip over to Yamaha user groups and you have lots of third party styles, but totally insane levels of piracy. If I worked for KORG my number one wish would be for them to build a "Style Store" into the keyboards with a very simple means of buying and downloading directly from the keyboard.
Much like what Apple have done with the iPhone. I think if it can all be made seamless and easy accessed, people would explore the possibilities.
Regards.

Hi Guys
It's really good to hear of this sort of sound development for the PA2X. One question - if the expansion card is fitted and loaded with the new piano samples how long will it take to boot up?
I noticed the increase in loading time on Robs Steinway as he warned there would be, and if that increased pro rata by the size of this new sample, would you potentially be looking at around a 4 minute loading time?
Kind regards
Bruce

Loading 256Mbytes of samples on the Pa2x takes about 1.5 minutes in addition to the normal boot time that remains constant..

Hi Rob
In anticipation of aquiring the Irish grand piano I've been looking at the EXB-M256 card availability. I presumed from your comments that these could be obtained from Korg USA at $99 but they state they do not accept international orders. The UK suppliers state £120 with 3 - 5 days delivery (so presumably they order from the States when they receive orders). Are you aware of any sources UK customers can buy direct at reasonable prices?
Kind regards
Bruce

50 euros for a quality piano??? Thats EXCELLENT value..
I paid much more than that for the TruePianos VST I have.
For what its worth James, you can put me down for a licence right now

When will this be released?..... sounds suburb! I tried to download the free Steinway to use and test out in the interim, but the file was corrupt upon opening.
Thank you

Hi Sharon,
The Steinway is a big download, Mozilla Firefox handles it fine. Internet Explorer is a bit unreliable. The Steinway file on the server is not corrupt, only your download I guess.
The full Irish Acts MegaGrand piano pack will require a Pa2x fitted with the EXB-M256 memory expansion. The Irish Rhodes piano is included in the pack. It will be available this month (August).
Best regards,
Rob

Try Sweetwater, 1-800-222-4700, Ask for Greg Baum (He works Tues - Sat.)...tell him Lee Simmonds sent ya. It is in stock, last I knew. It's where I got mine a month ago. Good folks, I have done LOTS of business with them.

Just wanted to let anyone interested in the memory expansion for the Pa2x... Korg usa has it back in stock. I tried calling Sweetwater twice, but they did not return my call so checked back on the Korg site and it was in stock. I will have mine by Tuesday. Now I will try to be patient in anticipation of the Irish Grand piano
Here is the link for the memory expansion for Korg usa:

Thanks for everyone's help here on the Korg forums! I am learning so much and finding lots of info. Can't wait to start making my own styles. It's really difficult to find styles for classical and new age type music... I found a few that work from contributors on this forum.... Thank you
Blessings,
Sharon
