WHOA, Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa....
Zolhof has something here! I keep myself too busy to even think about the date....April 1....lmao. Now I'm ticked because it MIGHT be a joke and it might NOT be. I better get back on my heart meds.
Wait a dayamn minute! I'm in Colorado, USA. Isn't it April 2 in Japan? Maybe not yet...but do Japanese even observe April Fool's day? I am not even sure that in Japan they are even aware that it is a big joke day to us idiots in the western hemisphere. And besides, I can't make myself believe that Korg would be involved in something so deviant and twisted as an April Fool's gag. Maybe they are doing it to piss off MauroR!!! LMAO.

Well, Korg US still list the OASYS with the current products, even in its Product details stills says: "Multiple forms of synthesis, with more to come!"
http://www.korg.com/Product.aspx?pd=214
So I guess the April 1st has nothing to do with this.

the german show ends on the 4th
it'll all be clear by then, i suppose
isn't it possible that KORG, itself, is in trouble?
yamaha... is so diversified
motorcycles, etc....
KORG doesn't have any of this
the oasys is incredible
but..... the price point
the relatively few units ever made
makes this SORT of product rather "expendable" in a HORRIBLY FLOUNDERING ECONOMY
i don't like typing this
and folks won't like reading it
but.....
it's true, unfortunately

Another thing I noticed.
http://www.korg.co.jp/Product/Discontinued/OASYS/
Down side, on the right corner, where it says Expansions:
It has desapeared the
EXf: Expansion effects.
Can you see it?
even when the EXf logo still appears under the picture at the top, It was there as well days ago.
They have deleted it from the web, so does it mean we will not see any EXf, as advertised, after all ?

"Maybe they are doing it to piss off MauroR!!! LMAO."
He is constantly PO'd. This might just send him over the edge. Maybe you should share some of your meds with him?

Hi,
on the german korg website the Oasys still is listed as active product and not discontinued.
I´m also wondering how Korg would discontinue on the one hand side and at the same time on the other develop and give new sounds (Vol1) ?!? Doesn´t make sense or ?

Another thing to consider is that when production of the Oasys hardware has stopped ( which it may or may not have already ), it does not neccasarily mean that the software devlopment side of Oasys will be stopped also.
Manufacturing decisions would be made solely on the volume of new sales, forward projections and stock holding - and I imagine there are not many new O's being sold now..
However, they may still have a limited resource available for R&D / Customer Support projects to continue with development of software features for a while. That kind of activity by Korg may go on for a year or two after the hardware has run it's course.
Software development must still be ongoing or we wouldn't be getting the HD-1 extras this week and the effects presets of last month. Some might say that Korg may just be 'cleaning the shelves'' or 'tieing up the loose ends' but only time will tell. I am still hoping for that long awaited SEQ upgrade - If that happens my Oasys won't be going anywhere for a long time.

KORG can't be in good financial shape in these times
so UNdiversified to the Naked eye
they have to cost-cut and save money where they can, just to survive
the Oasys HAS to be a bit expendable to them, at this point.... just by pure fiscal logic
Hey Fjs...where is this download site?

I was reading these messages....well, I can't read Japanese, and today is the 1st. I actually got fired on the 1st about 18 years ago...my was I surprised, I was a top producer, I thought it was a joke.
Well, if this is a joke, I got taken in! If there are some free dowloads for my O, I would like to know where they are.
