Hi Colin. Im sorry that you're not having a good experience here. You've obviously done everything that you can to solve the problem. I can only suggest that you call your Dealer and explain everything to him. Perhaps, he will have a solution but I think that option will be a Format and Reload of the OS and Musical Resources. It certainly can't do any harm to do that anyhow. What OS is installed at the moment? :(

Ok let's hope so :)

I wanted to suggest you to visit someone with a PA2x to walk through the steps. Sometimes when you look at someone things look easier !

Many thanks for comprehensive help BUT I followed your instructions to the letter (three times) including the Song List Edit Enabled.

When recalling the song it has certainly saved name, tempo, and style but the sounds default to the original style sounds. I want to be able to save a full keyboard/grand piano set up. I've also checked the manual and the CD-ROM to no avail and am beginning to think there might be a problem with this particular machine!!!

Any thoughts greatly appreciated. I guess I've been spoilt with the ease of my trusty Technics KN6500 and its dedicated Panel registrations buttons!!!

Colin

Hi Collin,
If I understood your problem correctly. I had this same problem and this is what I did and it worked for me.

Save your sound performance to your user area then in the style recall that user sound performance and save it

In the sound booked save that song again

- Hope this works

Thanks Keith,
I wasn't sure if I'd understood correctly.
Obviously not haa haa

mrniceneasy wrote:Hi Rikki. I think the Question more related to 'Registrations' than saving actual new Styles 'Quote' I want to write and save style registrations for all my songs 'end Quote'

Your answer of course is relevant with respect to 'quote' how and where can I store my edited styles for quick recall? 'end Quote'

So I think both answers are good for the actual post. Thanks for adding it to the Thread and it explains the procedure in an easy to understand format....

keith

Initial problem sorted...

Thanks everybody for all your help. It seems that Macboy was right and wrong...it was a simple thing that I wasn't doing BUT the shop did indeed help me.
Briefly (and here's where I defend my intelligence...) the Korg Manual is ambiguous in its explanation of "full keyboard". In the Introduction describing the Front Panel (and specifically Button 40 - Accompaniment - Chord Scanning) it clearly states that "chords are detected on the full keyboard range...FULL (both LEDs On...ie UPPER and LOWER)". And indeed that situation gives live "full keyboard". Now in my mind that suggests that, to access FULL Keyboard mode at any time, then those two lights must be ON! Of course I now know that it refers only to chord "scanning". Reference to "full keyboard playing mode" (essential to the jazzers amongst us, and note that it is in lower case in the manual) is briefly referred to at the bottom of Page 37!

The shop (who have been most patient...can I mention them in my next posting or is that against Forum Rules?) have now sent me a "Thickies Guide" (their words) to the Pa2XPro! They give many lessons to clients and agreed with me that the Korg Manual is not the clearest thing in the world.

I still haven't resolved the Record problem so thanks Keith for your link to a possible solution to that. Will keep you posted.

Hi kc47,

The "thickie's guide" sounds like a good idea. Is it freely available - I don't think I'm alone in struggling with Korg manuals.

Cheers, giner

Hi Colin. It looks as though we all need a look at the 'Thickies' Guide your shop sent you. Would be interesting to see what the Dealers have put together.
Pleased you got it sorted anyhow. :)

Here's my Compilation of Help files that I've edited and put together from here and elsewhere and my Input also...

Hi Colin,
again, not quite sure if this is what you're asking.

to edit a style.
press Record
edit "Current Style"

Do your Edits.

from the drop down menu choose "Write"
It will come up with a screen of User & Favourites slots
Choose an empty slot
Write
Exit.
You should be back at your edited style.

Registrations & STS's are saved seperately, so do whatever you need to change, after you've exited Style Record mode.
