ES 1 issue

Hi, I’m trying to clear parts on my es-1. The shift-clear part button (7) works most of the time but there are always a couple of parts that won’t fully clear per pattern. Why is this and what do I do? I’m a total beginner with this machine.

All I want to do is be able to clear the parts on one whole pattern so that I can write the blank to other patterns and free up some space (it’s all my friends old stuff on there currently).

Any tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
